Valvoline DEX/MERC ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) is formulated with premium base stocks and advanced additive technology to meet the challenging demands of an automatic transmission environment. Its responsive low temperature fluidity is beneficial in both electronic and hydraulic controlled transmissions and transaxles. It is recommended for automatic transmissions for pre-2006 General Motors and post-1981 and pre-2007 Ford passenger cars (except where a Ford MERCONV or MERCONSP type product is specified) and light duty truck transmissions, as well as many imports. Valvoline DEX/MERC ATF may be used for service fill where Ford M2C138-CJ, M2C166-H, MERCON, DEXRON, DEXRON-II, DEXRON-III, or Allison TES-389, is recommended. I needed to flush my Power Steering system on a 2002 Toyota. At $15.91 delivered this fit the bill at a cost comparable to 10oz from the local auto parts store. BTW: If you get a squeal turning the wheel, long before the stops on a 1st gen Tacoma. There is a screen in the pump tank that can be removed (the tank) and back-flushed with something like contact/brake cleaner until you see a clean screen with a flashlight. Don't need new anything, but look up how to purge flush after fixing the clog. This probably applies to many other vehicles also! ... show more

Wipe this straight from bottle on steel. Cut 3M Scotch-Brite Pad to size and install on old 1/4 sheet 110 volt sander. Vary pad grit to produce rust removal speed / finish desired.

If you do trans fluid drain and fills, this is the stuff to get! Right away you get better shifts, smoother operation and it will NOT harm the Honda trans which is extremely picky about the fluids used. Highly recommended on many Honda sites for that reason. Great price here on Amazon too!

did a complete flush on 2007 honda accord exl with 276k miles. Huge difference in shifting. Quality decision and buying in bulk is definitely cheaper than buying in store or individually. Might as well do a complete flush

Great basic fluid for a trans and power steering flush. I can buy this by the gallon on Amazon for what my local auto parts store charges me for a quart. Fantastic deal! I'll leave it in the truck for a couple months and then change it for something synthetic for a bit better temp stability.
