Description

ACDelco ATF Type III (H) is a premium quality automatic transmission fluid for use in a variety of passenger cars and light trucks. It is formulated with select base oils and additives to meet the heavy demands placed on automatic transmissions, including the generation of electronically controlled transmissions. ACDelco ATF Type III (H) is recommended for the following uses: when DEXRON-III(H), DEXRON-III(G), DEXRON-II(E), DEXRON-II, or Type A Fluids are required, in all automatic transmissions built by GM that do not require DEXRON-VI, and can also be used in some hydraulic and compressor systems where excellent low temperature flow ability is required.

Update 8/17/23. This was $5.23 a quart 10/2022! What's going on? FYI still $4.94 at RA @ 9-21-24 This is very hard to find locally and the newer ATF formulations and Dexron III substitutes and " "multi" coverage ATFs like IV,V, and VI are not recommended in power steering units. They have different additives and viscosity evidently. So why not replace the old dirty fluid with the same original stuff that lasted 18 years? Flushed out old fluid easily by taking off the return line on PS reservoir and draining into a clear empty windshield washer fluid jug while plugging male reservoir fitting with foam earplug. I believe I used 5/16" ID tubing to extend the return line from the rack/pump (to the recycle jug), it's "OD" fit perfectly inside the return hose, the other end into the clear recycle jug again. Raise both front wheels off the ground with at least a 1500 lb jack. Secure the jug to the hood hinge so you can see it from the drivers seat while you are turning the wheels lock to lock (engine off) and then you can monitor the fluid level and stay on top of filling the PS reservoir with fresh fluid. Stop when fluid looks new coming from return line. Bought 3 Quarts. It took 1 quart for me to completely flush the pump. I think I'd run a 2nd quart through it if I did it again just to be sure any old sticky stuff got pushed through the rack and pump. So now I have 2 quarts left for the next two flushes in another 18 and 36 years! Or 2 years and 4 years....😁 9/3/23 update: Or I could sell the remaining 2 quarts I have left on ebay and pay for the job 5 times over! 😁 ... show more
