Description

The Valor Fitness BE-11 Smith Machine is the perfect addition to any light- commercial fitness facility so users can achieve a total body workout. Constructed of 12-gauge steel with a 4” x 2” frame, the BE-11 has a 5-degree reverse pitch and includes solid steel bar latch support, bar rotation, and linear bearings to withstand the most challenging lifts. This heavy-duty Smith Machine also features 4 Olympic plate storage pegs to allow easy access to 2” plates. The 21 lb, knurled bar is attached to the frame to prevent users from losing balance and eliminates the need for a spotter, as it slides smoothly up and down the carriage without any resistance. The case-hardened rods and high- quality bearings ensure smooth movement and performance at any weight. Without the need for a spotter, users can perform numerous exercises such as bench presses and squats in a safe and efficient manner with the BE-11, while also being able to work on the rest of their body by performing rows, upright rows, shrugs, and calf raises. Note: the BE-11 Smith Machine does NOT include cables, but the BE-11CB Counter Balance Cable Set can be purchased separately to off-set the weight of the bar. Each counter balance weighs 18 lb and mounts inside the frame, with 60” cables.

Great machine and don't let those who complain about the assembly instructions scare you. The assembly of this machine is not complicated. Also, the compression pins that people have complained about (which act as stops to prevent the bar from spinning) can be replaced with 5/16 bolts, washers and lock-nuts. Just pick up a pair of these at the hardware store and use them in place of the compression pins. I don't know why they just don't include nuts and bolts in the first place? The only problem I encountered out of the box was that one of the plate carriages (containing the linear bearings pictured below), was not sliding down the stainless steel rail. When I slipped it over, it just hung there and I had to force it to slide. Something was obviously wrong with the bearings inside the carriage assembly (which there are two in each assembly). After contacting Valor about the problem, they first offered to send me the two bearings that are inside the carriage assembly. In order to remove the bearings, a compression ring pliers was needed. Before I agreed for them to simply send bearings only, I attempted to removed the compression rings with a compression ring pliers but still couldn't get the bearings to slide out of the carriage assembly? So removing the bearings is not as "cut and dry" as one may think. After contacting Valor about this, I asked if they could tell me how to remove them and they didn't know how? So they ended up shipping me a whole new assembly. For the money, you can't beat the quality and price of this machine compared to others and the operation is smooth (when the bearings work correctly). The only thing that would ever have to be replaced on this machine is the plate carriages and or bearings contained inside. If I knew how to remove the bearings, then just the bearings could be replaced if and when that day comes but Valor has not offered a solution as to how to do this after my own attempts? I'm not sure what the life expectancy of these bearings will be or how much it will cost to replace an entire 10lb. carriage assembly with the bearings already installed? I guess I will find out if or when that day comes? Anyhow, I love the machine and use it almost daily. There are so many exercises one can do with a Smith machine and Valor makes a great product for the price. The safety features are indispensable for those of us who are older and desire to lift heavy without endangering ourselves! ... show more

Nice assembled it’s a very nice smith machine. My only issue was the extremely pour labeling on the bolts and directions were just as bad. I had to go to YouTube to watch a it assembled. Without hand video I would of never been able to assemble it. And I’m a part time construction contractor. I’d buy it again if I needed to! ... show more

I was torn whether to give this 5 stars or 4 stars, because the finished product is definitely a 5, but the shipping and assembly was not that great – it was okay – but not great. The product came reasonably quickly, but there were some deep scratches on the pieces – and the paint is not the best quality; some of it flakes off while assembling it. However, a machine like this is gonna get scratched up with use, so not that big of deal. Most of the assembly was easy, but getting the “plate carriage” assemblies and bar together was a pain. There is only a tiny diagram to follow, so it is easy to put it all together slightly wrong – I had to take it apart and do it over. The good thing about this is that the first time I assembled it, it was stiff when rotating the hooks to catch or release the pegs on the frame, so the second time, I used gun-oil on the where the bar and carriage connect – perfect fix – smooth as can be now. The two little spring pins are bigger than the holes, so I couldn’t get them in – but they are not necessary, in fact it works better without them as they would significantly restrict wrist movement. I looked at some other brands that were around the same price range, even tested a Marcy smith machine, there is no comparison. The Valor is MUCH better. It is well designed (but unfortunately made in China). I have had no problems using it – and I love it. The bearings are a little noisy compared to a gym quality Smith Machine, but I got use to it. This smith machine is top quality. Arrived in 5 packages over two days, assembly was straightforward I never even read the directions. Once assembled it weighs about 300 lbs. I also purchased the counter balance kit. The bar is hollow and with the counter balance kit the bar weight is neutral. The weight carriers have a 1 inch solid bar that extends into the hollow rotating bar about 10 inches on each side, I installed a 26 inch piece of solid 1 inch bar into the center of the hollow bar which gave the bar a net weight of 5 lbs. The over all width of the bar was about 88 inches, I cut down the Olympic adaptors which slide over the 1 inch bar of the plate carriers to 11 inches and installed flat plastic plugs. This made the overall width of the bar now 75 inches. Even using 25 lb plates I can still get 6 plates on each side for 300 lbs total not counting the 5 for the bar. If I used 45 lb plates could get 5 on each side for a total of 450 lbs, which is plenty for me. Because I didn’t cut the carrier only the sleeve I could always use a longer Olympic sleeve if needed. The product delivered was a complete mess all box's rip open parts missing but was able to put together and is a nice machine works well. They need to work on their delivery and packaging unsatisfactory and stop making excuses for your deficiencies point blank.
