Since my livingroom is small, I use a twin size bed with bolster and large pillows as a sofa. I had been looking for a cover that would fully encase the mattress and foam top (12 inches total) to give it a clean look. The mattress pad I purchased before would not fully reach under the mattress and I kept having to pull it down so the bottom of the mattress would not be exposed. However, this mattress pad not only fully covered the mattress (and foam top) snugly, but it reached under the mattress, fully encasing my mattress/pad and giving it a clean unified look. It’s a tad thinner than I’m used to and I didn’t realize it’s not water proof. But, it’s really soft, clean from the factory, nothing torn or ripped. Also, I usually purchase toppers that are cotton but this seems pretty nice. I’m not sweating any more or less than usual.
