Today, the mil-dot reticle is widely accepted and used in this industry. Leveraging our years of experience in this area, UTG developed and refined the unique Tactical Range Estimating(TRE) mil-dot reticle and offers this feature in almost all of our optics. With some patient learning and practice using our TRE, shooters can enhance accuracy and performance in ways not imagined before. Regular mil-dot reticles found on the market usually have 4 dots in each direction of the cross hair, giving you 9 different aiming points for either windage or elevation. If you count the 2 inner tips of the opposite duplex cross hairs, you get 11 aiming points. In contrast, Leapers/UTG 36 Mil- Dot Tactical Range Estimating Reticle (TRE) has 9 dots on each direction of the cross hair, giving you 19 aiming points or 21 including the inner tips of the duplex cross hairs.Accessories UTG aims to provide application and solution oriented products, including useful and most commonly sough-after accessories. In addition to the flip-open lens caps, a pair of medium profile Max Strength heavy duty rings are included. The rings, with a saddle height of 15mm, fit on Picatinny/Weaver rails and are secured with user friendly, quick detach twist locks.

  • Great Scope
Purchased this for a new build. Did a bit of research and kept seeing this name UTG. Found what I needed and ordered it. It looks like a very expensive scope straight out of the box. Set up was super easy and it looks impressive sitting on my AR!! Love it and will definitely buy more!

  • I am very surprised pleasantly surprised at the quality of the scope
I am very surprised pleasantly surprised at the quality of the scope I especially like the fact that the parallax correction is the closest 10 yards. I definitely recommend this scope as a quality scope, in my opinion equal or better in those costing three times as much

  • Grate value
I have so many of these I should buy stock in the company. Its not like they are as good as the hi end scopes but for the money they are grate ,not good , grate . The best on carbine type rifles. I have more than a few and each one is as good as the last.

  • MUCH Better than expected
I read consumer reviews religiously. The public opinion and customer service experiences of every day consumers will always far outweigh a company's advertisement to me (read: action speak louder than words). I am also usually a believer that you get what you pay for. This scope changed my mind. I wanted to spend real $ on glass. Like, Nightforce $. But I don't have Nightforce $. I decided to save up, but kept my eyes open for an "interim" scope. Fast forward 18 months. Still short of Nightforce $. Hadn't found anything that wowed me enough to buy without decimating my Nightforce fund. Then, my hand was forced. My boss, who has never hunted, wanted to go hunting, and I was the man to teach him. I needed a scope, and stat. Enter Amazon, Prime, and UTG. I was wary, but the reviews were decent, if not good. It had features I didn't need or necessarily want, but I didn't hate them. I pulled the trigger (pun intended) and 2 days later, it arrived, and testing began. First impressions: rings are rings. They attached to the scope, and the rail without issue. Add the right amount of torque, and they're solid. Shade was pre-installed, and moved quietly and freely when I told it to, stayed put when I didn't. Reticle was squared. Had more mil-dots than I was used to, but different isn't bad. Red/green/blue/purple etc. worked fine, but that's not why it was bought, so I didn't care. Lenses were MUCH clearer than expected. Got down to brass tax- opened the window, grabbed the scope and a range finder to test clarity at full zoom and the side parallax. It functioned just as advertised, and at 100 yards I could read smaller lettering (not like warning label small, but still impressive) on a spray paint can. But would it hold zero? At the range, I started at 50yds and worked out. The beginning was a bit rough because this scope zeroes differently than everything else I've used. I'm sure there's a technical term I don't know, but I'm used to moving the scope to the bullet (i.e. you shoot high right, you move the scope appropriately up and right, like you're trying to change where the scope is pointing), but this scope you move the bullet to the scope (i.e. still high right, you move the scope down and left, like you're trying to change the point of impact). Again, probably a technical term there, but hopefully you get the idea. Once zeroed at 50, I reset zero (which worked flawlessly) and went to work at 100. The scope zeroed fine, and reset zero again without issue. Dials turn with what I would call the proper amount of force and can be locked when they shouldn't move. They also give a satisfying noise as you pass clicks. Recoil was not and has not since been an issue. 3 hunting trips (one of which was foggy), more than a half dozen truck trips on unpaved roads in a soft bag (read: thrown around a lot), a couple trips to the range, and a few hundred rounds later, and the scope is still zeroed. No issues with moisture or fogginess either. Boss was impressed with the scope and bought one too. Had a friend pick one up the other day after shooting. Neither of them have reported major issues to me. The scope does have two minor downsides, which is why only 4 stars. 1. Eye relief could be better. It isn't bad (pound for pound on dollar spent, it's actually pretty good) but it isn't high dollar scope good. 2. The rear flip cover tends to pop off when trying to flip the cover. Annoying, and could be lost, but not a deal breaker. In all, I'm happy enough to CONSIDER allocating my Nightforce fund to other big kid toys. We shall see. But buy with confidence. For the nominal cost, this is a solid investment. ... show more

  • Awesome scope
Stays accurate. I had my gun leaning before I was going out to shoot targets and it fell over. I was worried I would have to site it in all over. Not a chance dead on even after the drop. I will buy another as soon as I can gather the money.

  • Early review: Great on an Air Rifle, but Needs Different Mount
I bought this scope to use with a Gamo Whisper Fusion Mach-1 air rifle. I like the fact that this scope offers exposed turrets (they can be twisted by hand without having to remove a cap), and it has an LED-illuminated mil-dot reticle. While there is a color index table that you can use to find the color you like, I prefer sticking to plain, low intensity red when I'm shooting at night. Quick note: the product images show the sun visor of the scope, but not the front flip cover. It comes with the flip cover already attached. If you remove it, then you can see/use the sun visor. The rear flip cover is also attached, and flips "up." I found this to be inconvenient because the cover obstructed my ability to press the "EZ Tap" buttons for the LED. Removing the flip cover and then realigning it so that it opens to the right was an easy fix. The exposed turrets work as expected and have locking rings: rings at the base of each turret that screw tight to lock the turret in place. I've seen a difference in behavior when these rings are screwed tight: the zero point is different when they are tight. That's fine and even good, but if you make a change to the zero point then remember to retighten the locking rings afterwards The scope includes a "focus" knob for parallax, and has a minimum setting of 10 yards. I've read several reviews that say this scope loses its zero after 500+ shots. My hope is that a .177 air rifle doesn't impart the same shock as an 5.56/.223 (it doesn't). So far, this scope has been amazing for 100+ shots: at short range, I can consistently put a 5-round group under a nickel which is good enough for me. Now, one thing that needs to be said: while this scope is great on an air rifle, it isn't being marketed for that purpose. The rings that are provided are for 15mm Picatinny/Weaver rails, not the 11mm grooves on an air rifle. The rings simply cannot be tightened down enough to use on an air rifle. That leaves you at the mercy of the mount that is provided with the rifle, or else buying a separate mount. For my specific rifle/scope combination, the UTG 1PC Medium Profile Airgun Mount with Stop Pin, 30mm (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001WJ4Y28) is both essential and perfect. This scope has been amazing so far for my purposes of recreational shooting and varmint control with an air rifle. My hope is that the reduced shock of an air rifle will allow the scope to deliver consistent and reliable accuracy. ... show more
