I have a small closet in my basement where I store my firearms and always had to carry a flashlight with me when I needed better lighting to access the contents within. I tried a couple of other wireless lighting solutions but all of them were lacking in some way or another. When I saw this one, I thought to myself "what the heck" and ordered it up with fingers, toes and eyes crossed that this was "the one" that would end the search... Well, I'm here to tell you that this was the "be all, end all" light for my needs. It mounted easily on the door header wall shining into the closet providing plenty of illumination for all my needs. Since I don't access this closet very often, I suspect I won't have to recharge this baby for quite some time and when I do need to recharge, the unit is easily removed from the mounting base. My only complaint is that I wish it were a warmer white color on the light spectrum but I can certainly live with it the way it is as it far exceeds the other units it replaced in brightness and coverage. I have an issue with electricity in my vintage trailer. So I use a lot of rechargeable lighting. These ceiling lights are the best I have found so far. It is bright, it is motion sensor it has a remote. It has a bigger battery than average. And they are durable because the first one I had, I didn't mount it properly and it fell 3 times and the thing still works. I had a problem with the motion sensor being a little too sensitive, so I put a little piece of masking tape along one side so they light wouldn't come on anymore every time I walked past the room it is in. I was hoping to use this as a room light, being it said it could be used as a ceiling light. The bedrooms do not have lighting in this unit, so I thought it might be useful. It's not great for a room, and it left the pantry with a spooky and heavily shadowed vibe with the cool light. But it works great for under the bathroom sink, and I an considering putting it in the stairway during monsoon season.     • This is an easy and effective way to brighten a walk-in closet.

Our walk-in closet is more that just a closet for clothes. It has a few really deep shelves that hold many different household items. The existing overhead light is not sufficient to see into all the nooks and crannies. Additionally, since the wired-in light fixture is on the ceiling, we are always operating in our own shadows when selecting clothes or any other item in the closet. We mounted this motion sensing lamp on the wall of the closet (easy to do with screws into the mounting bracket) so the light is cast sideways into the deep shelves as well as into the rest of the closet. The motion sensing feature is great because the light turns on as soon as the door to the closet is opened. Sometimes we don't even have to turn on the overhead light for quick retrievals. Using the remote, this light can be set on daylight mode, which we like because it stays on even when the overhead light in the closet is on as long as it detects movement. If we just wanted this light to go on and off automatically where there is no other light it can be set to night mode. The remote can also be used to adjust the intensity of the light. The lamp is USB rechargeable and must be removed from the mounting bracket for charging (again, easy to do smoothly simply by rotating the lamp part clockwise on the wall-mounted bracket and pulling it toward you. All in all, this has turned out to be a great solution to our "darkness" problem with no new wiring involved. I can see how this would have many other useful applications. We have an area under the house that on some occasions can have high humidity. The area is normally lite by electric lights but it's far enough away from the upstairs light switch that once in a while someone walks by the switch and wonders "Why is that light on?" and then turns it off. When they do that I'm in total darkness. With this lamp installed I have enough light to find my way over to the switch and turn the electric lights back on again. I'm not sure how long the battery lasts on standby but it's been doing well for a while now. I'll just add it to a monthly schedule of charging like I've done with some other lights. The remote is nice and does work. I've got attached to the wall near the light with some hook and loop wall fastener and use it like a light switch. It would be nice if it had magnets on the backside for installing on metal. ... show more

This light has been extremely useful - it throws a lot of light, the motion sensor works really well, and it lasts a looong time. I planned to use this as a shower ceiling light, since it's waterproof. However, since then we've used it as a worklight when installing new light fixtures and for painting inside small spaces. We just set it to stay on all the time. Now, we use it as a motion sensor for late night bathroom visits. So far, we haven't had to recharge it at all.
