This USB 3.0 Switch is one of those things you don't know you need. I have two computers setup beside each other, one is a MS Windows Mini computer and the other is a Ubuntu 22.04 full desktop. I have and use a HDMI switch to control which computer I see on my one monitor but was using two USB wireless mice and keyboards (one for each computer) and I was moving external hard drive cables and thumb drives from computer to computer. Not any more. With this device you get a 4 USB ports hub with a button on top and two USB Type A cables coming out the back. You plug one of the USB type A wires coming out the back into one computer and the other one into the second computer. You then plug just one USB keyboard/mouse dongle into one of the four USB port on the hub and you can now use that one Keyboard/Mouse on both computers just by pressing the button on the top of hub to select which computer your using. If you plug in a thumb drive into the hub, it'll switch from computer to computer with the button press too. Very handy device. So far works as advertised, I use this to switch my mouse and keyboard between my desktop and laptop. The unit itself (black version) is very subtle looking, flat black, lays flat and out of the way in the corner of my desk, and has a non-obtrusive LED mode light (tbh the light could be a LITTLE brighter, it's hard to see during the day). It works smoothly switching between outputs, and the little button is nice and clicky, overall feels quality enough for all an plastic body. Dropping 1 star because I had to use additional hardware to get this setup. I do not plan to use this for USB drives, and I caution you from doing so. If you switch the outputs without properly ejecting a drive, you might cause data corruption, so be super careful there. I think this makes more sense for things like mouse, keyboard, microphone, webcam, etc. Slightly annoyed that it's a micro USB cable for charging, but that's still (unfortunately) pretty standard for a power-only connection on budget electronics these days. To set it up, I had to use an extra 5V wall power adapter I had already, as there is none included. Perhaps the intention was plug the micro USB power cable into my desktop, but that doesn't make sense if I turn off my desktop to use my laptop... So I'm not sure what their intended solution was there. All of the included cables (2x USB A-to-A, 1x micro USB) are about 2ft shorter than I wish they were. This device is intended to live on top of a desk and run cables down to a power outlet, under-desk computer, etc. I could just barely get the power cable plugged in, but only because I had a power strip suspended behind my desk a couple feet off the ground. The USB A cable to my desktop was also too short, didn't even come close to reaching through the pass-through desk hole and to a port on the back of my desktop, which is also suspended a foot off the ground, so I had to add my own 2ft USB A extender. Maybe my setup is atypical but a laptop on my desk and a desktop under my desk (both on the same side) sounds exactly like the target demographic for this device. ... show more

This product works great for what I do, as I am using 2 PCs to stream over NDI. My main PC I play games on, while I capture the gameplay, audio, and camera over NDI to my second PC which actually does the encoding. Previously I would just use a remote desktop software to be able to access the 2nd PC, but if I run into trouble I would have to rearrange all my cables to use my mouse and keyboard on the 2nd PC. Now, I can easily switch between PCs with a click of a button! The cables that are included allow you to connect up to both PCs via USB and they seem to be decent cables. There are 3 cables as the device also requires power via a microUSB cable, but that can be powered from another USB port in one of your PCs. I always double check if companies is providing legit stuff and what I can tell you is this hub/KVM Switch definitely works, but it is certainly not USB 3.0 as advertised, as it is instead USB 2.1. While my knowledge of USB specs are limited, this is certainly not a USB 3.0 device, as the last picture I posted is showing the hub. I tried it in several of my different ports and tried other devices as well to confirm it wasn't 3.0 capable. Assuming you don't need 3.0 capabilities or speeds, this device does the trick quite well! If you do need something more highspeed, you might want to try a more "on-brand" alternative, but this does the trick for me and I would assume most others around. I do think the seller should change their product name and description however due to the fact that this device is not actually USB 3.0, but that is generally the case with many sellers now a days unfortunately. At a push of a button you can switch between a combo of 2 items and use the same mouse/keyboard/USB storage/etc. Up to 4 items. Well made, though cords that come with it are a bit short.

This little box works perfectly for our needs. I’ve got a work computer and a personal computer and instead of switching between two sets of keyboards, mice, and cameras, all I have to do is click the little button and it switches between my computers for me. This thing is a great time and space saver for anyone who has two devices like this. I took the space saving a small step further and added Velcro to the bottom of the device and attached it beneath my desk so I didn’t use any (albeit very little) desk space.
