It's basically tape that takes paint and has strong adhesive. It is not at all firm, so if there is warping on the siding from the damage it will crinkle the patch. Likewise, anything larger than a small hole might leave a ripple no matter how careful you are. The latter is much less noticeable from a distance than the former. It's possible some processing of the hole, ie cutting it out cleaner, might mitigate the crinkling due to warping, but the larger the hole the more rippled the patch will be and you'll have to do a clean job. All in all, if you have a small hole (1.5" sq or diameter) and are able to match the paint this will work well. A little bigger might be ok depending on warping and the nature of the hole. Take a piece of broken siding to the store and they will match your paint perfectly.

These are barely noticeable if you paint it with color matching paint and definitely less noticeable than holes. It is only noticeable when the sun hits it and you know where to look. The only reason you notice is because of the lack of texture. I took one of the siding chips to get a sample size color matched outdoor paint. Just clean the area, cut the patch, place reinforcement patch, stick top patch, then paint it. So easy. Patches feel sturdy.

These work great you can't hardly tell they're on there although I do suggest if you have a bigger hole to put a piece of cardboard or something on the back side of the hole and be so it's easier to to do the sticky part cuz I had to do it over and over again but that was my fault so yeah these things are awesome I love them. Sorry it's dirty now on top of it but I mean you can see the whites the white some but I thought I got an awesome job like I said your best bet is to put a piece of cardboard or something behind in the hallway to make it easier for you to press it on but yeah I'll buy them again
