    • Damper slows the burn
In a wood stove the damper slows the burn so wood isn't wasted. Time will tell how long this one lasts. To install seems like it would be easy but it took more force to do than I expected. I bought a second one so there will be an extra when this one fails in a year.

Purchased this for 3 wall, insulated, stainless steel pipe and my very old sierra wood burner. Drilled holes and installation was easy (I just had to remove the spring because of the thickness of the pipe). WORKS GREAT!!! Less heat going out the chimney and more in the house. Loading the burner and the wood lasts longer. WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT AND TIME!!! Just have to get used to opening the damper BEFORE opening the door ... Cloud of smoke!!! The handle could be a little larger, it gets hot some times ... so wear gloves ... should anyway when working with a wood burner. ... show more

Helps to keep the heat in the stove and in the garage instead of out the roof. Before I installed this damper in my garage building stove pipe. I could never get it to stay warm. All of my wood would burn up fast and put out no heat. Installing this damper I can now retain most of the heat. I can turn it way down and hand keep coals till the next morning. I wish I would have ordered one when I 1st put my stove in.. So whether you are just now installing the stove or have a stove without a damper. You need this. ... show more
