When we adopted our 2nd cat, we had to keep her away from our first for a week to help her acclimate to her new environment and her new friend - she decided to make her mark on the carpet in return. As she transitioned from the office to the whole apartment, that trend continued - whenever she wanted food or attention, it was carpet o'clock. We tried a few different solutions, and this one was the one that stuck the best. I was able to cut it relatively easily to fit the door jams while completely covering her damaged spots - making it impossible for her to make her cuts any larger than she had already. They stay flushed to the carpet and don't pull up easily - and they've stayed well despite the fact that one half of them is resting on laminate wood flooring. I’m sure this is a great product. I mean in theory, it would’ve been tremendous for me. But my cat found a way around it and went under this in order to scratch all the carpet away from in front of the door. We did have to cut this to shape around the door but just didn’t work for our cat.
