🌟Metallic Shine Is Absolutely Stunning🌟
Color: Bit Moody (Champagne Foil Metallic)
I’ve always loved how the brand isn’t afraid to experiment with bold colors, interesting textures, and finishes that really stand out. Their eyeshadows are some of my favorite makeup products to play around with, so I was super excited about the Chrome Melts Eyeshadow! The multidimensional, wet look finish of this one is stunning! What makes this eyeshadow so beautiful is the way it reflects light. It has that gorgeous, almost Liquid Metal effect that makes your eyelids look glossy and illuminated without actually having to apply a wet product. This isn’t a basic shimmer that just adds a little sparkle. It has that almost wet-looking, foiled effect where the light catches it differently depending on the angle. Depending on the lighting, you can see different tones coming through, which makes this so much more dimensional on the eyes than an ordinary shimmer. I like using metallic eyeshadows like this when I’m doing a soft, neutral eye look but want something that makes it stand out a little more. A little shimmer on the center of the eyelid can completely transform an otherwise simple makeup look! It’s also beautiful for a more dramatic evening look, especially when paired with deeper matte shades in the crease and outer corner. The texture is also really easy to work with! You can apply a lighter layer for a softer shimmer or build it up for that intense, reflective, foiled appearance. I personally love using my fingertip to press metallic shadows onto my eyelid because it helps concentrate the shine exactly where I want it. A small, flat eyeshadow brush is also great when I want more precise placement. ✨ What I Love: ✔️ Extremely reflective finish ✔️ Beautiful wet-look shine ✔️ Perfect for adding brightness to the center of the eyelid ✔️ Foiled effect without needing multiple layers ✔️ Multi-dimensional in different lighting ✔️ Smooth texture ✔️ Easy to apply with a finger or brush ✔️ Can be used all over the lid or as an accent ✔️ Great both everyday makeup and special occasions ✨ Who I’d recommend it for: Anyone who loves metallic, chrome, foiled, or shiney eyeshadow and wants something that makes eyes “pop”. It’s great for people who already own plenty of matte and basic shimmer shades and want something with more impact. ⚠️ Who May Want to Skip It: If you prefer matte makeup or very subtle eyeshadow, this is probably going to feel too extreme. And because the whole appeal is the high shine finish, someone who wants a barely there everyday finish may not get much use out of it. If you love metallic eyeshadows, I would absolutely recommend this! It’s the kind of finish that makes even a very simple eye look more glamorous. It’s bold, reflective, fun, and different from ordinary shimmer. ... show more

Attention getting without looking trashy
Color: Crash Out (Green Metallic Duochrome)
This review is for "Urban Decay Chrome Melts Eyeshadow Multi-dimensional Chromatic Finish, Wet-look Shine + Foil Effect, Ultra-reflective Color Shadow for Statement Eyes" This eyeshadow is INTENSELY pigmented. It can be easily applied to the eyelids with very heavy coverage, with very little effort, giving nearly the same effect as how it appears just waiting in the palette! I used a firm, wide eyeliner brush to apply a small amount as I do for eyeliner at the outer corner of both upper lids. I did find that after a few hours it still looked very intense, and didn't need re-application or touch up to continue looking intensely chromatic green. However it did slightly migrate, just a bit, to surrounding areas. This isn't unexpected for a powder product. Very likely if an eyeshadow primer is applied first, it will further diminish this. It was minimally spreading to just the areas within an inch or so, and the only noticeable effect of it moving slightly out of place was a slight gold sparkle surrounding the eye area, only slightly visible with changes of the light. This is perfect of you are looking for intense metallic, chromatic eyeshadow that changes color with changes in angle of lighting. It's definitely an attention getter. Yet it's a beautiful color with my green eyes and light-to-medium, neutral skin, tempting me to try wearing a tiny touch of it as eyeliner to work on casual Fridays. While it demands attention, the color is so compatible with my skin tone that it works as an intensely metallic everyday makeup. ... show more

Gorgeous!!
Color: Bit Moody (Champagne Foil Metallic)
I am a big fan of Urban Decay and their eyeshadows. They are all very pigmented and a little goes a long way. This new chrome melt fantastic. I got the color "Bit Moody." It's a champagne/silvery color. I first applied it with my finger tip & a short brush without any primer and it in went on more as a light shimmer/glitter. My finger application was smoother than using a brush which was nice but I did notice it moved easily And the shimmer didn't stay in place.I then applied Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer (the best out there) and WOW! It went on totally different. It looked much more metallic & shimmery. I applied it with my finger and with a short, dense brush and both applications were about the same so I'd say you could use either. A little goes a long way. The shimmer is very fine, however, if you have sensitive eyes this does have some fallout meaning there will be specks of shimmer that don't stay on your eyes. I noticed it didn't fill up the pot as much as normal and it's because you get a little bit less vs their other shows. 1.5g instead of their normal 1.8g. I will definitely buy more of these! 1st pic is the shadow, 2nd is are without primer. 3rd is with primer. 4th is compared to their other types of shadow: matte and their moondust glitter shadow. 5th is the 1.5g pot compared to normal 1.8. ... show more

Good Quality but Overpriced
Color: Crash Out (Green Metallic Duochrome)
I'm kind of struggling with how to really review and rate these. I actually grabbed a few of them - - I had to know if Urban Decay had actually given us something cool - - and while they are undeniably pretty, they're not really very special. These are nicely pigmented highly metallic shadows and they do swatch and apply well but anyone who really has any experience with, say, indie eyeshadows, will find these underwhelming. I appreciate that they're nice and smooth with no fallout since these aren't textured metallics so the formula is overall easy to use and they are good quality. They're just not particularly different than other metallic eyeshadows that are currently on the market and these are comparably quite a bit more expensive. I might be more impressed if the colors themselves were more nuanced and not just primary colors or if they had a little extra texture or a duochrome shift but for the price, these really aren't a good value. They're pretty and for a consumer who doesn't want to stray away from mainstream but wants something a little colorful, this is probably very appealing; just know that there are less expensive and equally high quality options available instead. ... show more

Go ahead and crash out, you won't regret it.
Color: Crash Out (Green Metallic Duochrome)
I recently tried what I can only describe as the drugstore version of this color, which was super chalky and didn't end up looking sparkly at all. I was a little heartbroken, but then the Amazon algorithm recommended this brand. I'm familiar with Urban Decay (especially their single shadows!) and I've always wanted to try them out for myself. The only thing stopping me has always been the price, because I usually don't invest in makeup and I just pick up whatever I need at any given moment from the drugstore. But I couldn't resist trying this. And oh man, I am so happy I gave it a shot. Because I have dark eyes, I like to use fashion eyeshadow colors that pop. My favorites are usually liquid duochromes, but this is better than anything I've ever used. It is melty and blends in effortlessly, even without a proper primer. I love the shift from green to gold, and the little hint of teal when you tilt it a certain way. It didn't crease in my corners like the liquid stuff usually does, so I'm stoked with that because I won't have to touch up my makeup as often either. The packaging is also really nice, because the pan is sandwiched between two clear plastic pieces that don't let it get jostled around in your bag. I'm excited to try some other colors soon! ... show more

Golden shimmer. Applied smoothly, lasted well
Color: Crash Out (Green Metallic Duochrome)
This eyeshadow applies very smoothly and easily. And only a very small amount of product is needed to cause a goldish slightly green shimmer. I was able to apply the eyeshadow to bare eyelids, and then use my eye crayon over it to define the edges of the eyelid with a dark green. The eyeliner applied just fine over the shadow. I feel that eyeliner sticks and stays better once you apply eyeshadow first anyway, and this shadow did the same. After adding mascara, it did complete a very fun look That was shimmery and brought a lot of attention to my eyes. I like the hints of gold in the shadow Because it feels like that would be great for the christmas season. It feels like a quality product, like a more expensive eyeshadow and definitely a little goes a long way, and you don't have to apply a lot. This shadow wears about the same length of time as most eyeshadows do for me, probably, after about four hours, it started to fade just a little, and by eight hours It was only about half left on my eyelids. It did not run or smear, it just simply wore off a little. But the color was shimmery and gave a nice glow to my makeup, so it's something I look forward to wearing again. ... show more

High intensity eyes
Color: Bit Moody (Champagne Foil Metallic)
Just in time for holiday season: Urban Decay Chrome Melts eyeshadows are perfect for parties, but also not so over-the-top that they require a special occasion. The eyeshadow is finely milled, and applies easily with a fingertip or a brush. It lasts for hours, and washes off easily. This also means that some of it will inevitably drift away from the eyelids after it's been applied, but not so much that I have found glittery particles on my cheek. I love the champagne color, the perfect neutral that can be understated or (over primer and built up) eye-catching. Some of the photos make it look pinkish, but I don't see pink on my skin at all, just a goes-with-everything silvery metallic. I almost forgot to mention the case: a clear square of acrylic that both showcases and protects the eyeshadow. I can see which eyeshadow I've got in my hand without opening it, and the case keeps the shadow from getting on everything. Brilliant design for a top tier product. Urban Decay is cruelty-free. ... show more

For the bold and the skilled!
Color: Hot Head (Red Metallic Duochrome)
This shade is GLAM! Trust Urban Decay for great products with a big impact, and this Chrome Melts Eyeshadow is a major win. I selected the color Hot Head, and it gives glorious pigmented and multi-dimensional *pow* that will boost your look in minutes. There’s a prismatic effect with this shadow that varies with both the angle and the depth of application/layering, and the finished look oscillates between a gorgeous red and a smoky dark green, and if you fade out the edges it becomes a more subtle grey with a slight green undertone. I love this look, and it is not for the faint of heart. You *must* use an eyeshadow primer for it to stay, layer, and really show off the dimensional effect, and a fixing spray would go a long way to making your dramatic eyes last. If you’re clumsy like me, I’d suggest doing your eyes before your foundation/contour/blush, because I did have some trouble controlling glitter fall while applying but that’s mostly just me. I love this. Hope you do, too! ... show more
