My Lifeproof cases' camera was scratched up and made for poor photos. I switched to this case with no camera a cover and am very happy. I have dropped my phone and the case is fine. You may need a glass cover for the screen, but I don't have one and hike with my phone. I would purchase this again.

    • Slightly less protective, but more usable
It is slightly less protective than I expected from the description and pictures; however, it is better looking and more usable than I expected. I had the impression that the pictures for this product implied a screen cover came with it, but it does not. I think a lot of people like me who have used the "defender" style of cases might mistakenly assume there is a screen cover. Using a separate screen guard was easy and cheap enough that it doesn't affect my impression of this case. The rubber of the case doesn't have as much friction as other cases I've used. It is noticeably easier to put in and out of bags/pockets/etc. than the rubbery "defender" style of cases that feel so sticky. That doesn't mean it is slippery. There is enough texture that it doesn't slip out of your hand as easy as the bare phone would. Other "extra-safe" phone covers usually have a plastic shell with a rubber skin on the outside. This case is equivalent to the rubber skin without the phone being suspended in a plastic case first. If I worked somewhere hard on phones (e.g., construction), I would think this case is not safe enough. My phone gets most abused at the gym, and I wouldn't take it there with just this case. However, it does seem the perfect case for any other daily activities (with an added screen/camera protector). It seemed a good deal for the price as well when looking through the average prices of other cases I've used in the past. ... show more

    • Only case I will buy for my phone!
I am an extremely clumsy person and tend to drop my phone entirely to often. This case has yet to crack my phone. I have had this same brand with 3 different phones and have never cracked my phone with it on.

I've been using Urban for my iphone 6s, xs and 12 pro. Best case I found then and still the best case I find in today's market for what I'm looking for. I want something that provides great protection to my $1000+ electronic piece, but also not too bulky and a bit stylish. This case checked all the boxes for me. It feels great in hand. I particularly like the little leather on the back which texture makes the handling really pleasant(though it may attack dirt easier than smooth plastic). The protection is great. I've dropped my iPhone with Urban case for many times on concrete floors and so far it protected my iPhone well(knocking the wood). It's a bit on the pricy side for a protection case but I feel it well worths the price. ... show more

This in my second UAG Monarch that I have purchased. Used one on my iPhone 7 Plus and it provided great protection so when I was time to choose a case for my iPhone 12 Pro there was no hesitation as to what case I was going to get. I like the fact that it's not a case that everyone uses, so it stands out. Has a nice lip to protect the screen as well as a nice well to protect the camera lenses. While it does add just a bit of bulk the phone is still easy to take in and out of pockets. The fact that the Mallard color nicely matches my Pacific Blue iPhone is a nice plus. Yes it is a pricer case but you do get what you pay for. I will keep using UAG for all my phones going forward. ... show more
