Who doesn't eat or drink at their computer? Most do, right? This has kept so many crumbs out of my MacBook Pro and also a few splashes here and there. The use of the keyboard isn't affected because the firmness and flexibility is fine. Plus, I can see all the keys because it's transparent. Some may want one that isn't but, for me, seeing the backlit keys was very important. Washing it is easy; take a drop of dish soap and wash with your fingers. No need to scrub. Don't rip it. Then just use paper towels to blot it really dry. If you use a hair dryer, use it on very low (or no) heat. There is a hole for your finger on the touch sensor and that's been working fine as well. It hasn't ripped or gotten stretched or weaker anywhere so kudos to the manufacturing process. ... show more

For starters, I am a VERY fast typer. I do a lot of typing (I'm a graduate student), and so it's very important that my speed stays consistent. I honestly think any keyboard cover will slow your typing down a BIT, but for me it's worth it to make the tradeoff for clean keys, and minimal oil residue. Out of all the keyboard covers I've tried, this is by far the best. When first trying it, it is definitely a little stiff/awkward. Don't rate it based upon the first few days -- try using it for at least 3-4 before making your final judgement. I'm not sure if the material starts to soften, but I find that my typing is almost normal speed now, and it just barely feels like there is something on my keyboard. This is, by far, the best cover I've tried so far. Granted, I don't think it will ever feel perfect or as good as a keyboard without a cover; there's always going to be a feeling of just a LITTLE less tactile clicky-ness because there's a cover over the keys, but this is the best in terms of maintaining my typing speed and accuracy. ... show more

I had this cover before on my old laptop, recently purchased a new one and tried to get a cheaper version and I really noticed the difference! I LOVE this keyboard cover, it is really slim and fits right over the keys and doesn't get in the way when you are typing! Ghot cover has it figured out!

I'm fed up with silicone keyboard skins not staying in place, sliding everywhere while I type, fading/peeling, and looking gross after just a few uses. I was going to buy stickers but didn't want to go through the trouble of placing/removing them on a work-issued device. Took a chance on this and I am SO glad I did. It was packaged well so no damage or bending upon receipt. I was worried the Tinted Black would cover up the letters on my keyboard, but it was definitely the move! Very well made. No sliding when typing and you can't even tell there's a cover on it. No interference with the touch-ID. It's also not sticky, so wiping it clean is a breeze. Definitely recommend. ... show more

I've tried a few different keyboard protectors and always end up taking them off because I can't stand them. Most of the "clear" ones are slightly cloudy, and are definitely noticeable. Another issue I've always had is that the plastic is too stiff and makes the keyboard feel awkward when you are typing, especially when you are typing quickly. I decided to try the ghost cover one simply because they had a tinted option, and another review said the tinted one is super natural looking on a black MacBook keyboard, and they were right. The tinted one is soooo much better than the clear ones, and visually you barely notice it's there. The plastic is also way less stiff than the other keyboard covers I've tried. You can still feel it when you press the buttons, but it is nowhere near as annoying as the other ones I've used, and it's probably the closest I've gotten to a natural feeling keyboard than any other covers I've used. I really didn't like the way my old Macbook Pro's keys started to look after a few years of use--finger oil had degraded the space bar in one spot, and it felt like debris was constantly getting under the keys. When I bought a new Mac, I bought this keyboard protector to address those concerns, and I absolutely love it! I bought it a few months ago and it has held up great. I am a very fast typer; when I first applied it, I did notice some stiffness that hindered my ability to type as speedily, but this subsided quickly--either I got used to it, or the plastic softened, or both. It stays on great; I have had no issues with the protector falling off or sliding. And it protects the keys amazingly! It catches all kind of dust and other debris, and it is very easy to then brush these off with a soft cloth. When I occasionally take the protector off to clean it, I am always pleased with how sharp and clean my keys look. It definitely isn't a hundred percent transparent; more so translucent, which bothered me a little at first, but I have gotten used to. Overall, I think these small trade-offs are definitely worth protecting my laptop keyboard, and I would highly recommend it! ... show more
