  • Value RGB fans with some issues
This is a lengthy review, there is a summary at the bottom. Noise 2/5 I bought these fans knowing that they did not have fan speed control. However, I had no idea how loud they would actually be before I got them. These fans can easily be heard even with a headset on. With the computer turned off I measured the ambient noise level at 30dB, with the computer on I measured an average of 46dB while my computer was idle. I measured from where I sit to the actual computer (around 3 feet away from the computer with the case closed). They are not as loud as server fans, or even most graphics cards at full fan speed, but they are pretty noticeable. Since the fan speed cannot be changed you will hear the same thing from these fans whether you are at idle or under full load. Performance 4/5 Adding all 5 of these fans into my case brought my total fan count to 7. I only had 2 Noctua NF-F12 120mm PWM fans (really nice fans) in the case before I added these. After installing and testing with these fans my temperatures went down by 2-8 Celsius depending on what I was doing. My case does not have the greatest of airflow holes/vents, so seeing an improvement this large is pretty good. If you had a computer with a lot of airflow vents you would probably see an even larger benefit. More expensive fans would get you better performance than these, but as case fans, they do the job just fine. Lighting 2/5 These fans have RGB lighting that can be changed to a lot of different colors. However, they are not good when it comes to controlling the RGB lighting. They cannot be controlled with software programs, instead get a little RF remote with options to change the lighting modes, color, brightness, and speed at which the light spins around. The little remote is cheap and the colors on it often are not that accurate to what you will actually see. The lights do not get that bright, even at maximum brightness. Price 4/5 At the time of purchase, these cost me $35.58 with tax, which is around $7.12 per fan. For $7 dollars per fan, it would be hard to find a cheaper RGB fan. Most well-known brands such as Cooler Master, Antec, Corsair, and others sell RGB fans for $20 and up per fan on Amazon. Considering that these cost less than half of those big-name brand RGB fans it makes them a good value RGB fan. If these were to cost $10 dollars per fan instead of $7 per fan, then I would definitely consider getting a more expensive one from a big-name brand. These are definitely not worth half of a good fan, but at under half by a good margin they are worth it. Installation 3/5 As far as installing fans go, they install the same as every other computer fan, except for how you plug them into your computer. The fans include a fan HUB that plugs into power via a SATA power connector off your power supply. The HUB has 10 ports which you can plug ONLY these fans into. They do not use a typical 3-4 pin fan connector, rather they use a proprietary connector. You cannot plug them into your motherboard, and you cannot plug other standard fans into the HUB. There is no way to mount the HUB either, you could double-sided tape it to the inside of your case or just let it hang loose. I wish they would have included double-sided tape at the very least, but they do not. The cable on the fans is very long and will easily reach the HUB if you have a normal-sized Mid-tower case. Build quality 3/5 The build quality of these fans seems OK. They are far from being perfect, and they do have some issues. The actual fan is made of cheap plastic, but what do you expect from a cheap fan. When you screw in your fans the screw will keep turning even when you have it fully screw in which is from the plastic being so soft and cheap. It is not an issue but shows the quality. When I plugged in my fans to the HUB, I felt like I could easily rip the wires out of the actual part that plugs into the HUB. If I were just a little rougher with plugging it in, I am sure I would have ripped the wiring out. I am giving it a 3/5 in this area because after installation the fans seem to be just fine and they had no defects. Summary 18/30 For the money, these perform quite well at the cost of noise and some nice to have features. If you are looking for cheap RGB fans for a budget to midrange desktop these will be fine if you do not mind the noise. The fans perform well as case fans and do lower the temps over not having them at all. The RGB looks good but is poorly implemented. The lighting is not that bright compared to a quality RGB fan, no software control, cheap RF remote, and not as many color options as I would like. The fans are loud and powered by a HUB that plugs into a SATA power cable, so they do not vary in speed they will forever be at the same speed no matter what you are doing. They install the same as every other fan except they only have a proprietary connector that only works with the hub, you cannot plug these into your motherboards fan headers. The build quality is OK on the fans, but poor for the remote, HUB, and cables. The cables are plenty long and should reach from basically anywhere in the case. Considering these are around $7 per fan it is a good choice for a value RGB fan. If you really want RGB fans and can deal with the constant noise and lower quality RGB then I would recommend these. ... show more

  • Decent, cheap, rgb fans
These fans are pretty solid for what they are, the blades feel a bit cheap, but that's to be expected. They keep temps down a decent amount, and if you know how to install computer fans, it's pretty easy. Two years later, and they're still holding up great!

  • Still going after 3 years
I gave it four stars because there are better fans out there with more features, higher quality and better performance. BUT for this price I paid, I believe it's a 5 star product. Bought these in 2019 with a 3 year warranty because I didn't think they last that long but here they are still going. I leave my pc on regularly. I run a i7 8700k w/ Cooler Master Hyper 212 Black Ed. CPU cooler, EVGA 2070 SUPER FTW Ultra, Vengeance 32 GB 3000 DDR4, 850W EVGA PSU and 1xSSD + 2xHDD if that matters for application. My case isn't the best breathing case as the front panel is solid and has 4 ~2x1" slots for intake and I can feel the hot air being drawn out the rear and top. Sorry, no hard numbers but they do the job. I will probably upgrade eventually, and I will look at UpHeres higher end offerings. ... show more

  • To those who’s remotes “don’t work”.
I bought 2 packs of these, since I have two different computers that were in need of case fans. They work and look great. Now to the reason for the title, and the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. The case fans work perfect on one of my computers, but the other set that is on the other computer doesn’t change colors. I thought I had the same issue as everyone else, but I then realized that the fans changed colors before booting into windows. Since these don’t plug into the motherboard, I imagine that this issue is due to the power supply, and not these fans. I just wanted to inform anyone who buys these to try and change the color before you boot into windows to change the color. If you need longer to change the color or mode than the time it takes to boot into windows, boot into the bios to change the color, as the case fans will also change color in the bios, since it doesn’t impact the system as much as windows does. ... show more

  • It's great for the price but please note the drawbacks in my review before buying
Overall a solid product. I've owned these fans for about a year and 3 months and they are still going. Noise level is almost quiet under full load just able to hear them slightly if the room is dead silent but apart from that my wall fans generate more noise so I never hear them. However there are a few things you should note before buying these: PROS: - GREAT product for the price (don't think there's another manufacturer out there that sells 5 RGB fans for $27!) - Comes with RGB to match any build and if you don't like RGB then you can simply turn the lights off completely! - Even after a year they have not failed on me CONS: - Everything is controlled via the HUB that's included so if the HUB fails then you can't use the 5 fans since the fan headers are proprietary to the connections on the HUB. - RGB controller stopped working only about 3 months after I got this and started to change colours randomly and sometimes were stuck on a single colour or this rainbow effect that I could not control whatsoever - About 2 months after that the fans no longer light up and you can't buy a new HUB separately (at least not at the time of writing this review over a year later). Luckily the fans still spin so there's that. Overall the product is solid for the price if you don't mind sticking to the proprietary HUB that may or may not fail but if you want more control over your lighting and to use standard connections then it's best you save up some more and buy different fans. ... show more
