Set up was done without any problems by a plumber friend who did a good job. So far the motor is working and there are no leaks in the system and no set-up issues. I put my seeds to germinate and once they sprung up I got the system going and inserted the seed pods and baskets. I am only 2 days in and checking with excitement every day to make sure everything is ok. So far, so good. Yes you can purchase the parts and make your own system, but this is perfect, less work, ready to assemble and the price is worth it. I am looking forward to seeing how my hydroponic garden develops

this is my most impartial opining about this system the pros easy to assemble good materials the cons poor planning layout execution the pump is not strong enough the intake water supply tube is small the system layout is faulty the price as it is, its not wort it you going to need to buy extra pieces to fix it yourself since the tubing mapping is plain idiotically planed you going to need to make it run as their taller model in a zigzag formation so the water can run smotter because as it is is more of a flood drain system then a hydroponic system, the water is not getting to all the tubes and you will end up with some dry spot or complet dry tube channels and other channels completly flooded I mean who was the moron that planed this.

I have purchased two of these so far. I will provide a list of things I have found to make the product my versatile and also list issues. 1) The top back row on both of my units do not get water... so I can use them at all. that is -9 pots each as it is the entire row. 2) You need to cover up the seed pods so you have to find a compatible cover as this does not come with them. I found Seed Pods Kit for Hydroponics Growing System (50pcs Square Dome) ASIN: B0B492PPSF can work. 3) You should use label stickers as well to help control algae and promote plant grown. It also reflect light back as well while it blocks penetration for algae to grow. I found Hydroponic Seed Pod Labels,Replacement PVC Seed Pod Stickers 100pcs, Round Peel and Stick Hydroponic Garden Basket Label for Mark Plants & Understand Plant Growth ASIN: B0BBQVWTK8 4) DO NOT USE the sponge media they provide. It will prevent half of the seeds from growing and promote algae as well as prevented what plants I had from growing beyond the first month except for the Lettuces which seem to not care. I have tried several ones and had the most luck with the following because it better protects the roots and helps reduce any possible root rot. I also love that they are 100% biodegradable over time and they actually feel "real" and are not really sponges. I use VPS OrganiPlug Hydroponic Seed Starter Plugs, 100 Pack, Rapid Root Planting Pods for Seedling, Clone, Cutting, Promotes Plant, Flower, Vegetable Growth w/Organic Soil Ingredients, Fits Standard Tray ASIN: B0B6252V1R 5) If you use fish you NEED to build or purchase a Radial Flow Filter, Active Bed Bio Filter and a UV filter is a must or you will be cleaning your tubes every few weeks and also constantly pulling the seed pods to clean off algae on roots. I do not get any money from any referrals nor am i selling the listed items. I am always looking for other things to use to perfect the system I already purchased. Please reply if you have any other recommendations as I would love to increase my performance.

The drain port made a really loud gurgling sound during flow conditions, so I had to put a wider 3/4" PVC drain on to stop that annoying sound. The piping is not US spec, so just slipping a 3/4" US adapter was not going to work. You need to use either a rubber coupling with hose clamps or file down the outer diameter of PVC pipe manually (which is a chore). Otherwise, it is a pretty awesome product so far. Make sure you level it to get even flow.

Easy to assemble, mallet broke on first swing put honestly I wasn’t even expecting one. Great kit would’ve cost way more to buy all the fittings and PVC pipe alone not to mention trying to engineer it myself, which would’ve been a massive fail, anger, torment, and more or less breaking stuff and 13 trips to the hardware store. I can guaranteed this would have all ensued! No need to forget to mention all the stops at McDonald’s for the kids on the way to the Home Depot. Just the amount of time and anger I saved made this kit so worth the price I paid. One piece came broken and I was missing one piece, but the company sent me a quick replacement expedited wonderful customer service!

Assembly was very easy, I did not have any leaks, but some Teflon tape is included in case you do, as well as a few spare parts. I did find that the base was a little bit short for being able to put a water bucket, some simple risers (For a bed) did the trick for about $6. FYI Bucket is not included. One tip - when installing the drain pipe, remove the hose and use a clamp to squeeze it tight. Hand tight allowed drips.

Do yourself a favor and go for a larger tube size. This unit has cost me soooo much time and work. The tubes are too small for plant root growth. I’ve had the roots clog up the system to the point where the entire thing flooded and made a huge mess in my house. I got major algae growth and had to empty the entire unit, leaving all my plants out for a night while I meticulously scrubbed the entire thing with bleach. Took me about 6 hours to complete. While we had it apart we painted it black, hoping that it would take care of the algae issue. NOPE! After only 2 weeksr, I have algae growth again. My reservoir is dark green and I even wrapped that with a light blocker as well. I think it’s because the tubes are just too small. Don’t waste your time with this. There’s simply not enough room for plant growth and you’ll lose your plants.
