  • Must-Have Device for Energy Monitoring!
I recently purchased the Upgraded Brighter LCD Display Night Vision Power Meter Plug and it has been a game changer in my efforts to monitor my energy consumption. The LCD display is bright and clear, making it easy to read the information displayed. The night vision feature is a bonus and allows me to check my energy usage even in the dark. One thing I really appreciate about this device is how easy it is to use. Simply plug it in and it starts monitoring your energy usage right away. The device is also very accurate, giving me real-time information on how much energy I am using and allowing me to adjust my usage accordingly. Overall, I am extremely satisfied with this product and would highly recommend it to anyone looking to monitor their energy consumption and save money on their electricity bill. It is well-made, easy to use, and provides valuable information that can help reduce energy waste. ... show more

  • Affordable decent AC power meter, but limited display
This is affordable AC power monitor, providing Watts, Amps, Volts, Killowatts-Hours etc. and especially useful for determining electrical usage of appliances for portable and/or solar use cases such as in an RV. However the back-light does not stay on requiring frequent button presses, and the display can only display a single value at a time, also requiring button presses to scroll through different values. Considering the low cost of LCD and LED displays, it is unfortunate that a higher resolution display was not used to show all of these values at the same time. ... show more

  • For the money, it's a good deal
First time ever buying this type of product. The wattage reported matches quite well with claims of some products I use. Have not used in a high wattage situation yet. For the price paid, this satisfies my needs.

  • measure energy costs for rotisserie chicken
this watt hour meter is decently accurate up to 1800 watts anything higher it starts to deviate a lot. I measured 2 space heaters separately one set to high at 1500 watts and the other one on medium 925 watts. then load tested this meter for 3 minutes at 2425 watts (both heaters together) but it would only show 2150 on the display. I also compared the voltage accuracy on open circuit and under load with a kaiweets hd208d clamp meter and owon hds242 oscilicope and its spot on. lower watt loads below 100 are also accurate. lowest it can display is 0.5 but for really precise measurements under 10 watts a volt meter and clamp meter is way better. the timer accuracy does deviate a bit and I expected that since this is no atomic clock or smartphone timer app. I did a timed test with my phone to boil 1.5 liters of water with a starting temperature of 19 degrees C same with the kettle and it finished at 99 degrees C. total time shown by this kill a watt is 7 minutes 11 seconds when my phone says 7 minutes 7.96 seconds. total energy used is 0.180kwh. any intermittent loads that only draw power when needed like a convection oven that uses power when needed will not add time to the display when there is no current or load active. so on any given temp setting and timer duration the watt meter only measures the active wattage time obviously. it does show power factor resistive and inductive loads show 1.0 it does store the recorded data when unplugged since there is a battery inside. backlight does turn off after 10 minutes. I found the best tool to press the recessed rest button is a pen don't use a toothpick as you'll push the button in too far and it will get stuck inside. I found out the hard way when I needed to open it up to unstick the button. (it had anti tamper triwing screws so I had to drill it out but then cracked the lcd display and had to order a second.) overall its been good so far besides from the annoying triwing screws and knowing the energy costs for all the various 120 volt stuff around the house is nice. ... show more

  • Better than Kill-a-Watt
I purchased this to replace my now dead Kill-a-Watt P4400, which insists the line voltage in my house is 145V, not 120V. Note: my Kill-a-Watt was one of the first P4400 models ever sold...at least 15 years ago. Anyway... This is not just an excellent alternative to the P4400, I believe it is superior. Here's why. - The display is huge and super-easy to read. - The display is also backlit...no fumbling with the flashlight I can never seem to find in order to read. - The housing around the plug is small enough that it doesn't block the second outlet on the receptacle. I can actually leave this unit plugged in without having to use a short extender. - The buttons make sense, unlike some other cheap units out there. - You can enter the cost of electricity to get an estimate of how much your appliance costs to run. -- Note: it appears you can enter only one rate. If your electricity has on/off peak rates, you'll have to pick one and go with it. This doesn't matter for me because I can do the math as long as the kWh is reported correctly. - This unit is less than half the cost of a new P4400. Might as well get two! I'm only a couple of days into using this, but so far, I'm loving it, especially the huge display and cheaper cost. If anything goes south, I'll come back here and update. Highly recommended. ... show more

  • Good Power Meter, Works As Stated
I could see it being used in a science class as a very inexpensive power meter. It displays separately; voltage, watts and amps but it's made to use with one 120 volt AC device plugged in and calculate power consumption and cost. I purchased it though so I can double check the power wattage listings stated on purchases I've made. I checked the accuracy with motors, LED and incandescent light bulbs of known (listed/printed) wattage and the power meter matched them all within tenths of a watt. I was also surprised when I plugged into it a power strip we use with two computers, two monitors on standby plugged into it along with a router and how much "phantom" power was being used. It has changed the way I look at power consumption. ... show more
