This thing worked amazing for our road trip! It took about 5 minutes to set up with 2 people. I think being solo would suck for set- up, but you could still do it. We just used it mainly to have a place to change and put our stuff that was in the back of my suv during travel. We sprayed our really good with silicone spray so it didn't leak at all during the rain. I cannot say if it would have held up without it, but it seems to be good quality, so I would say it probably would. I love that you can zip up and close the inside that connects to your car as well. I drive a Nissan ariya AWD connects nicely to my car very spacious. My dog dosent like it if I leave him in there alone but it’s held up to him full speed running into the side to try and bust his way out. A lot easier to set up then I had thought I didn’t by myself in about 10mins instruction where easy and clear. Poles are very durable. Very big and comfortable no issues with zipper. The only slight problem was the bungie ropes to secure to tires. My style was of car dosent work them. The bungie for the back hatch no problems and fits nicely no rain inside my car as of yet and I live in Washington. ... show more

I bought this tent back in the early spring for a camping trip in July. As a 65+ woman who does a lot of solo camping, I was a little bit concerned about how easy it would be to set up. Hubby & I did a couple of dry runs in the backyard before I left on my trip. While there was a small challenge bending the main support pole to get it to slide into the pocket, I was eventually able to do it all by myself. The tent itself was very nice for how I wanted to use it. Because I was planning to left my campsite frequently, I opted not to hook it up to my Santa Fe's tailgate. This made it easier to come & go, but also created a bit of a mess the couple of days we had a lot of rain. Live & learn . . . I just needed to be sure to shake it out after it rained. Yes the nylon and net windows are pretty thin. I had a raccoon try to get inside one night. It jumped up onto the sidewall of the tent, collapsing it on one side and punching several holes in the window netting. Initially I thought they were cigarette burns but later realized it for what it was . . . a critter trying to get in. Taking the tend down and packing it away was much easier than setting it up. All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed this tent and will use it again on future camping trips when I'm planning to stay put for at least 3-5 nights. P.S. I should note that I car camp, sleeping in my SUV and not in this tent. That said, there is plenty of space for a couple of cots/sleeping bags if that is your preferred way to camp/sleep. ... show more

I bought this tent because I am a solo camper and thought I would like the idea of hooking it to the car while I haven’t hooked it to my car because I like to have my car available if I need to go somewhere while I’m camping I love love love this tent It’s like having a cabin all to yourself. If You can stand up, there’s plenty of room plenty of windows and it’s not hard to set up. This is my go to tent and in the winter I even put a little cot tent inside the tent so I can sleep warm and still have access to all my stuff and have Privacy there’s plenty of room to set up a cot store your stuff and I even put a chair inside of it when it was raining and was super cozy. ... show more

I am a 5'4" woman in her 60's and set this up no problem. Quality tent that can be used as a stand alone without attaching to the car. I can stand up in it, there is a lot of room, handy pockets and a little slot to put an electric cord through if you use one.

A lot cheaper than other options for the model y. This one has more room than other similar products. I thought it was a quick pop up, but it isn’t. Still, the tent wasn’t difficult to put up at all. You’ll want to get a couple clips to help seal around the hatch
