Yes, they are thin. But that makes it easier to tear when you get to the dump site for recycling. Our town makes you bring your recycling to them IF you want to. And you cannot leave plastic bags in the bin. You have to open the bag and dump everything out then throw the bag away. I then take the bags to the mobile recycling bin for plastic bags. Very inconvenient but I like to try my best to recycle what I can. These bags make it a little easier. And being they are blue it helps the kids distinguish which trash can they are suppose to put the recyclables in. ... show more

These Hefty recycle bags are great! They’re strong and hold a lot without tearing, even with heavier recyclables. The drawstring makes them easy to tie up and carry. They fit my bin perfectly and make taking out recycling much easier and definitely a reliable choice. They are priced well also.

They're thinner than I expected for Hefty's. I've had to be extra careful about how much and what kind of trash i put in the bag as an average load for other bags causes this one to tear and develop holes easily, even with no sharp edges or box corners.
