They're commendably thick, resist tearing, and provide superior value compared to name-brand alternatives. Choosing these bags is an obvious decision given their performance and cost-effectiveness. Their opacity is a definite plus; they aren't nearly as transparent as other bags I’ve used. While competitor bags often claim a 1.0 mil thickness, these are rated at 0.9 mil but undeniably *feel* thicker and exhibit a higher quality. The red drawstrings are also notably robust. Drawstrings on name-brand bags often fray or detach under pressure when dealing with heavy loads. Even with a large volume of Christmas waste, these bags performed exceptionally well. As a responsible practice, we trim the handles before disposal. Although our trash goes to a processing plant where they burn the trash, we want to ensure no wildlife—birds, land animals, or marine life—could get tangled if a bag were to escape during collection or transport. Described as unscented, these bags release a faint, clean aroma when opened. My husband suggests it's simply the plastic, but I find the scent genuinely pleasant. .9 ML thick, strong bags are PURRfect for that household with a daily need for strong bags that do no break with heavy clumping clay and daily whoman trash! This makes my list as the IDEAL DONATION for a CAT RESCUE, Adoption based or with a small Shelter. If I were not struggling myself, I would adopt a cat rescue for a monthly subscription. Before finding this price, Amazon often has sales, and this .9 ml bag I purchased about a dozen other brands that appeared good deals but found I was doubling or tripling the bags. The only downside is, if the bag is very heavy the pull string in the top closing will break. I tie the top close. Rescues work hard don't make them work harder with broken bags or bags bigger than they can carry. Many of the Rescues and Sanctuaries have older persons running the facility. ... show more

I am using these Amazon Basics Trash Bags, for about a year now, and honestly they’ve held up better than I expected. The material feels just a bit thinner than some name-brand bags, but they still manage to handle normal kitchen trash without ripping. Not even ripped once. The drawstring works well most of the time, though once in a while it pulls uneven, not a big deal but worth mentioning. What surprised me is that the box lasts forever I still have plenty left even after 12 months of regular use. They fit my 13-gallon bin perfectly and don’t slip down the sides. No weird smell, which I prefer because scented bags sometimes make the whole kitchen smell odd. They’re not the strongest bags in the world, but for everyday kitchen stuff they do the job just fine. These drawstring trash bags are superior to other brands we've used over the years. They are thicker, and the drawstrings are sturdy. Depending on what you need to use them for, above and beyond for general trash, the heavier-duty nature can be very helpful. We use them to store out of season bedding, for example. The bags are sufficiently thick that I have to write a label for them as I can't readily see through to see what's inside. They don't stretch out of shape or tear easily. I've been quite impressed with the quality and easy of use of these bags. When not used for general trash, I can re-use them a number of times.
