We bought these to use on our vacation at the beach. We used one with a Google Pixel 6 and the other was used with a Samsung Note 9; both phones were able to fit in these with full body cases on the phones. I did not have very high expectations when I purchased these but figured some additional protection was better than none at all; especially where sand and water were involved. I sat on the beach daily for hours and had my phone out playing and reading. My daughter was all over the beach with hers taking pictures. She tested the case by putting it underwater and buried it in the sand. Surprisingly, not one drop of water got inside and same result with the sand. These are one of my favorite purchases and we continue to use at the pool and other outings throughout the summer. Its nice it has the neck string (which can be replaced with more comfortable one); we wear bike riding, at the park, etc.... I would definitely recommend these and would purchase again. ... show more

I got this for kayaking, boating, SUP, fishing, etc., not for underwater pictures or snorkeling. Having said that I'm not using it much while in the bag, anyway, so I can't speak as much to picture clarity or facial recognition. I mainly don't want it getting ruined if dropped in the water or if my kayak were to flip. This is fully submersible. I tested it first with a napkin in it. As for the second one, that is for anyone who comes with me because I know it will hold their phone, too. I got my own cute paracord lanyards for it so I can clip it to me, too. Losing it in a river, I would just lose it, submersible or not. So that is another thing to keep in mind. But now I can clip it to me or the boat somewhere and it's going to stay put. I usually take it out somewhere along the way to take my pictures, still. Not on my paddleboard, just in case. But in a boat that's reasonable, or up on the beaches, etc. This is a super reasonable deal given how much money I'm protecting keeping my phone safe and potentially someone else's, all for under $5 a piece. ... show more

Bought these to use in case of an unexpected soaking rain while walking or jogging. So far no real world testing has been done yet, that's why it's only 4 stars. However, I followed the instruction of how to test for water resistance by submerging the bag under water for 30 minutes. The challenge was to keep the bag under the water but not to hinder its function. Found a rock, stuffed it inside along with a paper napkin, closed the bad and in the water bucket it went. I left it there overnight, obviously more than the 30-minute requested, and the paper napkin was as dry as the moment I stuffed it. One word of advise though. Give your phone a bit of space dimension wise when measured against that of the bag, especially when your phone has a hard case. I forgot the simple fact that the phone is a 3-dimension object and the bag measurements were given in 2 dimensions. Luckily, my phone fit in, tight, but it fit nicely. Whew, otherwise might have to return to get a bigger one. ... show more

    • Protects from water, taking pictures is tricky

The pouch does a great job protecting the phone from water. Of course, we wanted to take pictures while snorkeling in the ocean. That turned out to be hard. While you are out of the water, you can unlock the phone using the fingerprint sensor, take pictures, do what you want. But under water that did not work - at least for our phones (Samsung S20FE and Pixel 7). At the end, we found a way to take videos. All we had to do is raise the phone above water, start your video recording, and continue snorkeling. Then stop recording above water again. Yes, it's not the best, but does the trick, without having to spend money on underwater camera. ... show more

    • Just barely fits a large phone with case but works

I have a 7" Moto G Pure and there is barely any room left inside but it fits and can be closed. I don't recommend a two part case as the buttons are not correctly responsive. I found it was more responsive with a stylus instead of fingers. However, naturally it's best to use bare phone or small one part case with phone screen uncovered. Also it's easier to use the volume buttons for photos. If you have a large phone like this, get the clear color since you won't be able to see the side buttons on your phone. I bought this for protection mostly for use in the rugged outdoors in wet conditions such as rafting. I will not use it for underwater photos and honestly you would be very lucky to use it for that especially with a large phone like this. ... show more

I RARELY write reviews on products, but this one was just too good. I bought these too take to Aruba for a trip with my girlfriend and her family. We did a lot of snorkeling while we were there and I was able to take the rental car keys in one dry bag (folded in half) and my phone in another to get videos under water. I wouldn't test diving down too deep with these, but for keeping your items bone dry, this is the bag for you. I also tested each bag prior to going out in the water with them to make sure they didn't have leaks. I will probably buy another pack of these to keep as spares or to loan to family on trips where they may need something like this. One side note is that my swimsuit has a deep zipper pocket on the back that I was able to put BOTH of these dry bags in with keys and phone. Swimsuit is from Chubbies. The zipper pocket is what gave me the stress free ability to put these items in my pocket and not worry about them falling out. ... show more

    • Great for what I need, but...

This case will hold most normal sized phones. I did a test for integrity, and after an hour submerged in about a foot of water, the napkin I put inside stayed dry. The ability to exercise the touch screen on a smart phone seems to be very good, but it does slow you down a little because the touches have to be deliberate. Based on what I see as to construction, I think these cases would be OK to take into a pool or for casual snorkeling, but I would not trust them for scuba diving at one atmosphere or more. However, my intended use is for boating, and for that, I think they are perfect. Update: I wanted to add that the instructions are in Engrish and may take a little thought to fully understand.
