I got a Carplay unit that installed on the dash. I realized that it was going to interfere with my dashcam. The stability when I selected a screen icon was another issue. This CD Slot Car Mount for tablets was exactly what I needed. It is sturdy and provides me the ability to access the screen very easily. Very impressed. It's hard to find a quality made and long lasting mount for a Tablet for a car without spending $100.00+. But I took a chance on this item and so far it's working really well for me. The placement of my tablet with this CD Player holder makes my tablet look like a brand new cars "infotainment system." I just hope that it will last because these Plastic "Mount's" are made in 🇨🇳 China and are Well Kown For Breaking at the "Swivel point." I've used it many times now without any issue at all. But only time will tell if it will actually be worth it and actually Last a Long Time and Hold Up or Not. For the price it wouldn't kill me if it'll last for at-least a year or 2 at minimum. I'm still looking for a much better solution that isn't made to fit in a CD player itself. I do like the position and placement as to where this holds my 11'' Samsung Galaxy Tab S8 Tablet on center of my dash. It turns my tablet in the latest "infotainment System" with GPS Maps and TV, Music & everything in-between. And it's right on the dash at my finger tips. Currently it holds it firmly in CD player but still has a little bit of shake if you hit a bump. Over time that could cause stress on plastic parts of this mount like Swivel point. I worry about getting a broken or cracked scress if it does break on me. But otherwise it's works just fine and even works better then expected. I want to love this mount, but it seems to pop out of the CD slot every other day. Sometimes with my ZFold5 connected to it, sometimes empty. There is little 3M pads you place on the mount that go into the CD player. Those came off after the first time I used them and the mount popped out. Every time it happens and my phone is on the mount I'm scared my inside foldable screen is going to get damaged. Not sure if it's just the CD player in my car, if it's user error, a faulty unit, or just normal issue. I bought this item to hold my 11-in tablet. It came in a tiny box. The parts were easy to put together, I've owned several for the CD slot but for regular phone sizes. The holder feels very smooth. Feels velvety to touch. It has rubber like grips at the top and bottom area that hold the tablet or phone. Feels solid. If you open the bottom area with the 2 side buttons. It will stay at the selected size you pull it at. Kind of typical of other phone holders. Then you can use the to grip to adjust to the side of your phone or tablet. I used this holder for both my 11 in tablet and regular cell phone with it's cover attached. I'm not sure why users can't use it on smaller phones. If you set it portrait style, it will hold it. And then you can turn it to the side if you have to. The photos show you how it will look if your CD player is at similar height. I flipped mine upside down like the other reviewer. I did that for 2 reasons. I'm short on stature. So my field of vision is slightly blocked. The other reason is to kind of hide my tablet from people seeing it when I run inside for a minute. I have heavy tint in my vehicle but you can't still see the dashboard if you walk closer by. And I only run inside a minute because I'm a delivery driver otherwise my tablet will be put away or go inside with me during longer periods. Also it does hold very well with tablets, you have to make sure the part that you turn to tighten right behind the tablet is actually tightened. If you tend to move the holder too much, then yes it will loosen and appear to not securely hold your tablet. Any holder will do that, even for your phone. So if it feels like it's not holding it, secure it tighter. That's it. And yes there is some bounce to it. I think that could be solved by facing it slightly upwards rather than vertical. The more vertical, then more bouncy it gets. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more

I was originally concerned about buying this because most of those ball & socket style mounts either strip out or loose their friction over time. I’ve been using this one now for several months & it still holds the iPad at the angle I choose every time without slippage while still allowing for easy adjustment.
