No matter how I connected it "by the vehicle 12V plug, or using the rechargeable battery pack" it only worked twice. My purchase was not from Amazon. Midland electronics has no customer support. This was a unique design, which ended up to be a boat anchor for the $120 I paid. Do Not Buy

    • Great price for the features, but short on power
With battery power & 50+ inch attached alt antenna only good for about a mile. Plugged into 12 volt and using a President mag mount well tuned antenna it punched out about 3 miles on a clear day. Features like scan CB channels, NOAA & FM option + ANL are great. I need a regular car mounted CB that can reach out and get traffic info from a few exits ahead & I could not get it from this unit. It is going back! If you use a rental car, this may be great with a good antenna. It is amazing how much stuff they get into a small package that fit in the top of my console!! Would be great for a boat too. Uses batteries up quickly if you talk a lot or scan channels. Great for a kid to talk to other portables on CB band. Good luck! ... show more

A nicely designed and versatile system with multiple connectivity choices. As a handheld CB it’s about average in range & audio quality. I found it odd that the FM feature still seems to receive on other radios just as a.m.. The selection of battery packs is great and the battery eliminator is a nice option for vehicle or base use. Compared to other 4-watt handhelds radios the range is only fair. Compared to FRS or even 4-watt GMRS, with the supplied antenna, the range is less…typical of other handheld CB”s. ... show more
