The slices/discs are in good condition. No apparent discolorations, cracks, etc., and the bark around the edges is still attached. The surface is fairly smooth and will only need a bit of finish sanding to allow the primer and paint to go on smoothly. The size is pretty uniform with most of them round and a few slightly lopsided in shape - perfect for the rustic look? What else is there to say? It is what it is. Nothing special. If you're hoping for some uniformity on sizing and shapes, you may or may not get lucky... these are all from different parts of different trees, so very few of them line up well, if that's something you may have needed. I used mine to make some stumpy little stands for a woodsy Greenman and Red Riding Hood figure the wife and I had made. Worked out decent enough. ... show more

I love these little pieces, they are great for wood burning. The size is good, I can complete one in a night or two and the fit perfectly into a 5x7 frame. I did have one split on me, so now coat the back in Mod Podge and I've had no issues since.

I ordered these for my daughter’s upcoming wedding to give away as coasters after I have them laser engraved. I wanted as close to uniform sizing as I could get with few splits. I was not disappointed. First, these arrived the very next day, which was so nice. Second, the sizes were fairly uniform. I had seen some reviews of others brands that didn’t look very uniform and was really worried about that. From the circumference size to the thickness of each round, these are almost perfect! I think these will be perfect and easy to engrave on. We did the first one today just as a trial and it looked great! I plan to put a couple coats of poly on each one and they will be a fun, inexpensive wedding souvenir.
