I began assembling this at 7:05 am and was finished by 7:30 am. I did not use the included mallet, I just used the palm of my hand to seat the wood into the plastic connectors. I laid out all of the pieces and built it from the ground up. I deviated a bit from the included instructions and I believe that saved me some time. I have read the one-star reviews on this but I did not encounter any of the issues stated in those reviews. The key is to initially fit the plastic connectors being careful to align them with the wood. If you take care to do that, the connectors will not break. They are snug but that is by design. I did alter the shelves so they are not all front to back or side to side as you can see in the image. It depends on what you plan to put on the shelves. Another comment from the negative reviews was regarding splinters. I did not have any issues with splinters. The wood pieces did have some slight warping and that made it slightly challenging to align the vertical pieces. This is to be expected with small cuts of this type of wood. In my opinion, this is actually beneficial as it seems to add to the stability of the entire assembly. Overall, this is a very nice product and assembles easily. I have always been good at these types of projects but anyone can assemble this. It may take longer for some, especially if you are not accustomed to doing these types of projects. The included accessories were an added bonus. I would recommend this to others as it is a very nice addition to an office or living room. It is inexpensive but does not feel cheap when fully assembled. This may not be for everyone and that's ok. For my purposes, it more than satisfied what I wanted to accomplish. ... show more

I need a cheap plant shelf to make the best use of my picture window. Found these low cost shelves online and couldn't be happier. They are cheap and smaller than you'd expect (you may note I used crates to elevate them a bit in front of my window (it worked perfectly). The shelving is good enough quality to hold plants of different sizes and weights. It feels steady and should last the test of time. Assembly was straightforward once you get the hang of it. The mallet included was perfect and worked VERY WELL despite others saying it broke. I saved it to use on other projects. It looked me 23 mins to assemble the stand shelf from start to finish. I ended up ordering 3 more of them (they look great and made more space to buy more plants lol). I couldn't be more pleased. The gloves included are handy and kept my hands cleaned during assembly (as your hands will get dirty but it washes off easily). The tiny garden tools are cute but prob won't serve much of a purpose for me. I would recommend the stands but would recommend checking out the dimensions as it is smaller than it appears online. Overall I'm very pleased and would recommend and would big again. (I could almost use one of these for every window at my house 🙈). ... show more

The media could not be loaded. When redoing my plant room, I needed shelves that could hold numerous plants with differing heights, not have solid shelving, so as to let in light, fit into my space, and not be too expensive. I spent a long time checking measurements and configurations. I ended up getting four units from different companies, but they are all the same material, construction, and assembly. I guess they are made by the same company, but are from different distributors. Anyway, I am a super pleased with them all. They were easy to put together, have a nice look, are pretty sturdy, even with heavy pots, and are a good price. They are 12" deep; which allows more floor space in a smaller room. This was easy to put together but the instructions were very vague haha you can also move things around and build it how you want to, just be cautious to make sure there are enough pegs for however you choose to build it. The wood stains your hands so they supply gloves and a mallet. Not sure why the wood stains but for the price this is perfect for what I needed. The color is beautiful and it has a woodsy smell that I really like. My pictures are before I rearranged the shelving so I’m missing two small legs haha it even comes with a hanging planter and a hook! Seriously an amazing price for this piece. If you are thinking about it.. just do it! Absolutely worth it. ... show more

I should have paid attenion to the measurements and that in the review photos people had it set up on boxes.not tall at all. the idea of hanging a plant as low as it is is silly to me. really only the top 2 shelves get sun in my window. Thats how short it is. Also the carbonization...... it is filthy. instead of wearing gloves Id wash the entire thing before putting together. is it toxic? no clue but its enough they give you gloves for it. idk. I was excited before it came. kinda eh after I put it together and this morning looking at how wonky it is, I feel yuck. I guess if you pile enough plants on it noone notices lol Ill probably end up buying another and use it to make this one taller. Also Im going to spray paint it so it doesnt look like something I pulled out of the dumpster. lots of mixed feelings on this. its good bones anyway. ... show more
