I purchased these to label my new hop rhizome varieties and I wish my hops were doing as well as these are. I didn't read the description fully before purchasing so I was pleasantly surprised when I found the included permanent marker in the package. The sticker you are given to place on top of your writing has held up perfectly so far in direct sunlight, heavy rain, and VERY hot temperatures. Overall I'm very impressed with these and would buy more in the future. I used these in relatively soft soil, but if you plan on using these in very hard soil I would stick them in carefully because I could see the stakes bending easily in that case. ... show more

Even with some of these in my green house, these are fully waterproof and rustproof too. These arrived with nothing wrong with them but also came with more than enough labels and covers for these. The marker that comes with these is definitely permanent, so once I write on these tags, the writing doesn't come off. Once filled out, I just place the label on the tag and then place a clear cover over it. Once I placed these in my plants, I waited a week and kept checking every week to check the stakes themselves. Even after having these in moist soil for almost 2 months, the stakes haven't rusted. Even after checking the tag area and the whole stakes, these have not discolored or rusted at all. This kit comes complete with stakes, labels, marker and plastic label to protect against weather. Copper looks very nice but noticed after a little sprinkle there are blue tainted spots beneath the label. The plastic held well no issue with marker bleeding. The marker is not thin so large words may need to be abbreviated to fit on the label. I got the longest stakes they have to ensure stability. The box it comes in can be used to store the extra stakes and labels. All in all very satisfied with the quality and value of this product. ... show more

This is the first label system for my perennial gardens that has ever worked. Iโ€™ve been looking for a solution for more than 20 years. I cannot fathom why there are any low ratings unless the stakes and labels were not used properly. Thereโ€™s a copper stake, a sticky label and then plastic tape over the label. Iโ€™ve used plain embossed copper stakes before and they were unreadable in the spring. Iโ€™ve used the marking pens before without the label and tape and they wore off in the winter. I haven't needed to buy plant markers in over 10 years. Boy, how quality has changed. The tag portion of these markers is made of extremely thin metal. Just a step about heavy-duty aluminum foil. The stakes are not much better. I would have returned these but I needed something right away.
