If you own a PS4 and haven't played the Uncharted Trilogy from the PS3 days, this is a fantastic collection that looks and plays great on the PS4. I personally played all 3 games on the PS3 and am loving playing through them again with the upgraded graphics and framerate. I'm very much an Xbox guy but this series alone makes owning a PS4 worth it to me (along with The Last of Us, another excellent game from Naughty Dog). The collection is the single player campaign from Uncharted 1, 2 and 3. Multiplayer is NOT included, however there is an insert which grants access to the Uncharted 4 beta when it is available. For anyone who hasn't played Uncharted, the single player experience is essentially a story driven adventure which is reminiscent of a cross between Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones. There are lots of little puzzles to solve and shooting sequences, as well as plenty of very well acted out cutscenes. You generally care about the characters in this game because they feel like real people, minus their constant death defying jumping, climbing and other video game whatnot. I would argue that the campaigns are the most fun solo experience I've had on PS4 thus far. The changes to the originals are subtle, but they look and run great on PS4 and fit right in with a lot of current gen games. Small tweaks like the ability to unlock and equip guns at will as well as being able to change 'skins' aka play as another character are included. So basically you can play through the campaign as characters such as Elana or Sully if you have them unlocked - but it'll switch back to Drake for some cutscenes. Definitely a fun little addition that was included in Uncharted 2, but now is in all 3. Other than that, there are not many new things - but that's ok. You're already getting 3 games for the price of 1, and it's definitely worth having in your library.

The Uncharted series has four main titles and a fifth offshoot for PS4. This particular game collection provides the first three for PS4 gamers who don't want to backtrack to their PS3 for these excellent titles. Got a non-gamer friend who you want to bring into the gaming world? Uncharted is the way to do it. Just set it to easy mode, teach them the controls, and watch them fall in love with gaming. The graphics have been upgraded just a bit for better rendering on PS4, but don't expect a completely new look. Instead, you'll get quality graphics from each game's time period, all of which still hold up. Having played (and beaten) each of these games multiple times on the PS3, I still had to pre-order the PS4 collection due to its massive replay value. Since this set was released three years ago, I've played through each of the first three Uncharted games at least twice each. And they're still just as much fun as they were the first time. The appeal of the Uncharted series is that you're presented with an anti-hero you can root for, a beautiful (mostly) open world concept, controls that are quickly learned, and a continual story line that is begging for a film adaptation (and not the young Drake concept that's currently in development). As Nathan Drake, you get to be the best combination of Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, and Pitfall Harry. Each title is a 3rd-person shooter, action/adventure, puzzle game. If you've somehow never played Uncharted and you enjoy 3rd-person shooters and the Indiana Jones movies, you've been seriously missing out. Get three games for under $20. You'll be instantly hooked and will want the 4th game and the offshoot title, too. After which, The Last of Us from Naughty Dog will be calling your name.

A fine series of games, bogged down by a "stop everything and shoot the horde" game mechanic. This is especially true in the first game, where the whole thing would probably be over in a couple of hours if you didn't have to single-handedly defeat a seemingly endless stream of mercenaries. The combat is also frustrating because seemingly all enemies, no matter how outwardly normal looking, possess Hulk-like levels of invulnerability to all but direct hits from rocket launchers and grenade shrapnel, taking at least a couple of shots to kill no matter what weapon you're using (unless you're very good at headshots). Probably the most infuriating aspect of the game is that in order to ensure those battles keep happening, enemies somehow get into abandoned cities and ancient tombs ahead of you, despite not having the special whatsit that's supposed to be the only way you could get to those places. Just when I'd think, "Oh, a quiet moment to explore!" suddenly enemies would start pouring out of the woodwork, turning exploration/puzzle sequences into more aggravating gun battles. The second and third games did a better job of balancing this delaying tactic with other mechanics and weaving story into the battles, which helps make them far less tedious. As most people have noted, the second game seemed to do the best job of getting everything just right. But even it has its moments of frustration, particularly an action sequence where you have to run across a collapsing bridge and make a leap of faith in a weirdly oriented perspective, which was reminiscent of a similar teeth grinding jump late into Indiana Jones and the Emperor's Tomb. You can't see what you're jumping very well, and if you miss you might get the impression that it was because you didn't get there fast enough, jumped in the wrong place, or were meant to do something else altogether. The jumping puzzles were fun, and reminded me a lot of ICO and Prince of Persia. Like those games, some of the most interesting puzzles revolve around jumping in amongst ancient stone and wooden machinery, like Charlie Chaplin with really excellent upper body strength. It always fascinates me how that stuff stays running after hundreds of years. In any case, the jumping is fluid, not too frustrating, and just feels right. The main reason I wanted to play these games was for their stories. I enjoy a good treasure hunt, and these games deliver. Though the actual "big artifacts" you go after aren't nearly as interesting as the places you visit. The ruins themselves would be discoveries of a lifetime. Drake is likeable, his various associates are a lot of fun (his whole team has a bit of a Burn Notice vibe), and double-crosses are always in the offing. Overall, when the story was not being disrupted by arbitrary, game-lengthening gun fights, it was really entertaining. I would highly recommend picking this game up if you want to experience all the Drake goodness for the story, don't care about multiplayer, and need something to justify that PS4 purchase.

Wow! What a great collection! And at a great price too. The Uncharted series is one of my favorite game series. Unlike Call of Duty (not knocking CoD, great series on its own right) and other FPS games, you do so much more than just shoot in this one. There are puzzles to solve, clues to follow, and very well written story. Here is a game that still has a lot of combat (third person perspective, as opposed to first person) but also has you solving mysteries of the past as you try to stay one step ahead of nefarious types who are trying to find the same treasures or cities, or whatever it is in whichever storyline you have selected. And as you go, you learn more about the back story of whatever it is you are seeking, as well as playing out the story of the hunt itself. Really well written plotlines, and excellent game play. Imagine combining Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty, and National Treasure all into one game series. That's much like what Uncharted is

I have never played any Uncharted games before purchasing this collection. I have a PS4 and thought, "why not get some of the best games for the PS3?" I have also played, and thoroughly enjoyed The Last of Us, which is by the same developer (Naught Dog) as Uncharted 1-3. For the price this might be one of the best gaming values since The Orange Box. Three fantastic games, each one taking about 8-10 hours to complete (could be much more if you are a trophy hunter) and every second of the time is enjoyable, particularly Uncharted 2. Fantastic. It is also very nice to have them all on one disc so when one is finished just hop onto the next one. Here is a review of each individually. Uncharted: Drake's Fortune - This game was released in 2007, and can at times feel a bit, but I am getting ahead of myself. You play as Nathan Drake, a descendant of Sir Francis Drake searching for the fabled city of gold, El Dorado. There are other important characters, all of which get their own development (except the bad guys) and overall the story feels pretty solid, even if sometimes you are not exactly sure why these people are shooting at you, they just are. The mechanics leave something to be desired at items, but overall are pretty good. Drake is very physically adept and spends much of his time leaping and climbing from ledge to ledge and you occasionally leap to a ledge and the game thinks "Jump to that ledge or drop to your death? I am pretty sure you meant drop to your death" And it does. There are various difficulty levels from “Easy” to “Crushing” so it does allow you to choose your own frustration, depending on how experienced you are with shooters. The graphics look better than 2007 graphics due to the game being remastered by BluePoint Games and really, they’re pretty good, nothing special, but they never get in the way. Overall though, the game play is fun, the shooting mechanism is pretty good, and the story is excellent. Also, you don't NEED to play this one first, but I do highly recommend it for story pieces in the second game. 8.5/10. Uncharted: Among Thieves - Among Thieves was released in 2009, but feels almost brand new when you play it. This has been called one of the greatest video games of all time, and I can see why. The gameplay in this one is relatively similar to the first with Drake climbing and Jumping all over the place, and shooting the baddies with the copious amounts of ammo lying around. However, almost every gripe about mechanics in the first Uncharted is fixed for this one. The game is incredible. The physical things Drake does feels more natural and intuitive, falling to your death on accident is less common and even the shooting mechanics are improved. The story is very solid now with pretty much every aspect being explained clearly, but the real bonus to this game is the variety of landscapes, scenery, characters and mechanics required throughout the story. Each plot arc feels like it could be its own game. I would love to say I have something bad about this game, but it is pretty much perfect. If I absolutely had to pick an issue, I would say that sometimes, the game can’t tell if you meant “jump to the ledge” or “reach for the ledge” which can make the movement a little spotty, but believe me, that is rare and just me searching for a problem. 9.9/10 Uncharted: Drake’s Deception – Drakes Deception was released in 2011, but the graphics look great and the game feels very modern. The stellar reviews for this game are legitimate. I will have to agree with most and say it is not quite as good as Uncharted 2, but it is only because 2 was so extraordinary. The story again is good, going into the backstory of Nate and Sully’s relationship and introducing a new main character. It all works together and keeps you engrossed throughout your play through. The puzzles in this one seem to be more complex and fun than the other two as well, challenging, but still relatively quick to get through. I enjoyed them most in this game. This game did feel a little more glitchy than the other two however, when it came to just general exploring and gun battles. Enemies would be dead, but still standing (sounds creepier now that I write it) so you keep shooting them waiting for them to die, wasting time and bullets. There was also an instance where a treasure or collectible was sitting on a table and the game would not let me pick it up. I don’t know what it was, but there are achievements for collectibles and if I was attempting them on this play through, that would have been extremely frustrating. All of that aside, the game is still great, and is worth a play if you have a PS4. 9.2/10 This collection is an incredible value. The gameplay is great, the graphics are beautiful and they are worth playing for the story alone. If you have a PS$ there is no reason not to own this collection. 9.5/10 NOTE: This collection is only the single-player parts of the game; no multiplayer is included.

Uncharted is a game series that is loved by all. At least that is what I want to believe. Uncharted the Nathan Drake Collection is amazing in itself. It is the first three games that were originally released on PS3. They have been revamped with the overhaul treatment for your PS4. They look, play, and sound amazing. With any and all projects like this it is always important to ensure that everything looks and plays smooth and brings back memories of the old games. This series of games does live up to the hype and is a staple in any gamer’s library of games. If you haven’t played these games before or maybe you are looking for something new and exciting this is the way to go. The voice acting is by far the best you will find in any game that is out there. There is just a sense of realism with these games that when they talk I feel it is how I would react and act in these situations. The gameplay it self is easy to get used to and easy to pick up. I loved these games when they were released on the PS3 and they are even better on the next gen system of the PS4. Do yourself a favor and grab this game. You will not be let down in any way Overall 10 out of 10
