  • An awesome collection of 3 of the best Playstation 3 games, must own.
Platform: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
If you own a PS4 and haven't played the Uncharted Trilogy from the PS3 days, this is a fantastic collection that looks and plays great on the PS4. I personally played all 3 games on the PS3 and am loving playing through them again with the upgraded graphics and framerate. I'm very much an Xbox guy but this series alone makes owning a PS4 worth it to me (along with The Last of Us, another excellent game from Naughty Dog). The collection is the single player campaign from Uncharted 1, 2 and 3. Multiplayer is NOT included, however there is an insert which grants access to the Uncharted 4 beta when it is available. For anyone who hasn't played Uncharted, the single player experience is essentially a story driven adventure which is reminiscent of a cross between Tomb Raider and Indiana Jones. There are lots of little puzzles to solve and shooting sequences, as well as plenty of very well acted out cutscenes. You generally care about the characters in this game because they feel like real people, minus their constant death defying jumping, climbing and other video game whatnot. I would argue that the campaigns are the most fun solo experience I've had on PS4 thus far. The changes to the originals are subtle, but they look and run great on PS4 and fit right in with a lot of current gen games. Small tweaks like the ability to unlock and equip guns at will as well as being able to change 'skins' aka play as another character are included. So basically you can play through the campaign as characters such as Elana or Sully if you have them unlocked - but it'll switch back to Drake for some cutscenes. Definitely a fun little addition that was included in Uncharted 2, but now is in all 3. Other than that, there are not many new things - but that's ok. You're already getting 3 games for the price of 1, and it's definitely worth having in your library. ... show more

  • Best Video Game Series of All Time
Platform: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
The Uncharted series has four main titles and a fifth offshoot for PS4. This particular game collection provides the first three for PS4 gamers who don't want to backtrack to their PS3 for these excellent titles. Got a non-gamer friend who you want to bring into the gaming world? Uncharted is the way to do it. Just set it to easy mode, teach them the controls, and watch them fall in love with gaming. The graphics have been upgraded just a bit for better rendering on PS4, but don't expect a completely new look. Instead, you'll get quality graphics from each game's time period, all of which still hold up. Having played (and beaten) each of these games multiple times on the PS3, I still had to pre-order the PS4 collection due to its massive replay value. Since this set was released three years ago, I've played through each of the first three Uncharted games at least twice each. And they're still just as much fun as they were the first time. The appeal of the Uncharted series is that you're presented with an anti-hero you can root for, a beautiful (mostly) open world concept, controls that are quickly learned, and a continual story line that is begging for a film adaptation (and not the young Drake concept that's currently in development). As Nathan Drake, you get to be the best combination of Indiana Jones, Lara Croft, and Pitfall Harry. Each title is a 3rd-person shooter, action/adventure, puzzle game. If you've somehow never played Uncharted and you enjoy 3rd-person shooters and the Indiana Jones movies, you've been seriously missing out. Get three games for under $20. You'll be instantly hooked and will want the 4th game and the offshoot title, too. After which, The Last of Us from Naughty Dog will be calling your name. ... show more

  • A Legendary Trilogy of 3 Sony Exclusive Games well worth adding to your PS4 Collection!
Platform: PlayStation 4 Edition: Standard
Great action-adventure game for PlayStation Gamers. Alright, I know this review would comes across as better late than never since by this point I've just started playing Uncharted 4: A Thief's End but I wanted to take the time to post my thoughts on the Nathan Drake Collection. It's personally my favorite HD remaster and I've beaten all 3 games so I could get myself pumped for Drake's final adventure. There are no multiplayer modes for the second and third installments but I don't see that as loss because it's really the interactive cinematic experience, amicable characters and lengthy single-player story campaigns that are the main highlight for this first-party franchise. The third-person shooter controls, platform climbing and stealth combat mechanics feel spot on but the melee combat can feel a bit forced (especially in Drake's Deception) and I would consider it the weakest gameplay element though they improved that mechanic in the fourth installment. There are certain levels and story moments throughout all 3 games single-player campaigns that feel a bit too routine and can drag on to almost a boring mood but you can always skip the cutscenes if you just want go straight to the gameplay segments. The best thing I like about this remaster collection is that all 3 games are faithfully ported in 60 fps. It really makes the graphics very smooth, story cutscenes blend better in-game and background areas of iconic settings stand out gorgeously. One of the best PlayStation exclusive game franchises of all time. I enjoyed finishing all 3 Uncharted games on next-gen. This is a worthy title for those who own a PS4 but never played the previous 3 games on PS3 and great for catching up to playing the fourth game. The best parts of the game are: 1. the story, 2. the characters, 3. the heart-pounding shooting, and 4. puzzle solving. I'm looking forward to finishing Uncharted 4: A Thief's End to see the complete circle of Nathan Drake's career. ... show more
