I had considered the SteadyRacks, but they were more than I wanted to spend considering I needed 4 of them. Although the SteadyRacks do offer more designs that will fit other types of bikes (i.e. fat tire bikes). Anyway, these are easy enough to use my kids can put their bikes away (finally) on their own. Because space is a premium in the garage, I made a rolling wall and installed the racks on the rolling wall. These racks work for our standard 26" mountain bikes. I still haven't gotten around to installing the bottom pieces that hold the lower tire on each bike, but they work just fine without. Since they swivel, if you don't "walk" the bike directly in line with the rack, it may move out of the way a bit, but I found it easy enough to get the hang of.

Easy to install and holds our bikes out of the way. The ability to swivel the bikes is great for getting around the bikes in our garage. Will definitely buy more when we get our E-Bikes

Whether you are installing the bike rack on sheet rock or concrete block I suggest you create a template so you can match up the holes better. Just place the mounting bracket over a piece of paper or I prefer cardboard and trace the bracket and mark the holes. It's easy and quick and it ensures that the holes will line up and it's straight. Once i installed the bracket, I tightened up the swinging arm so that it would not swing freely when you mounted the bike. Otherwise, it's a piece of cake.

Good price made them worth checking out. Install easily enough, but because they do not angle the handlebars, you generally can't pack the bikes together unless your different bike sizes and geometries fit perfectly together. Loading and unloading is straight forward and generally easy. It would be nice if they had a bit more resistance to flopping back and forth but ultimately they work fine. Biggest limitation for many is going to be the sizing. Modern 2.3/2.4ish inch MTB tires just barely fit in the cradles and can at times require a little persuasion. According to the instructions they also only support up to a 28" wheel which covers road bikes but may mean 29er MTBs also don't fit, which is a majority of new mountain bikes. So look elsewhere if you have a stable of modern mountain bikes you are trying to pack into a tight space. Otherwise these are generally functional.

After hanging the first rack and back tire holder, I realized it needed to be higher. I was able to move both the hanger and the tire holder up. I made sure all four of these were mounted to wall studs in my garage. Each one is 32 inches apart which gives just enough room to angle the bicycles as close as possible to the wall. These hangers get the bikes up off the floor of the garage and look nice and neat. It is easy to swing them out at 90 degrees to the wall to dismount the bike. I do have to swing out any surrounding bikes on the hangers to get the bike, if it isn't the one on the farthest end. The painted steel seems strong and won't deflect or bend. A professional organizer saw what I had done and really liked the idea. She said she will be recommending this to her clients.
