Nobody actually likes bugs, right? I’ve picked up four of these things before, and they did exactly what I hoped for, o pests at my lake house, not even one. That’s why I’m going for the 6-pack this time. Honestly, it’s wild that you just plug them in and—bam—no more rodents. But hey, it works, so I’m not asking questions. I’ll just enjoy my critter-free place. I have five cats running around, so I love that these repellents don’t use any chemicals. No stressing about my pets getting into weird stuff. I tried chemical sprays before, but these ultrasonic gadgets blow them out of the water. They’re way better than the old versions, too. These use two smart chips, which make them stronger. Don’t ask me for science, something about ultrasonic waves. Living in Texas, the roaches are massive, and I want nothing to do with them. Honestly, I’d pay $200 for these things if I had to, maybe even more if they worked outdoors. The fact that they kick out ants, spiders, and mice, too. Total bonus. You can put these anywhere, but definitely stick one in the kitchen and another in the bathroom. Pests seem to love water. And look, the box says they get rid of every pest, but my mother-in-law is still hanging around. (Seriously, I’d pay another $200.00 if they fixed that problem.) The best part is they’re stupidly easy to use. Just plug them in and forget about it. Each one covers about 1200 square feet, but remember, the waves can’t go through walls. So, where do you put them matters. The instructions say 20 to 40 inches up from the floor, but most outlets are lower. I have one outlet above the kitchen counter; it works just fine. I want my place to feel comfortable and safe. These little plug-ins beat sprays and traps by a mile, and I don’t have to worry about my cats getting into toxic stuff. I have no clue how the ultrasonic part actually does its thing, science magic, I guess, but who cares? I do know that my house feels cleaner, calmer, and way less buggy. And really, that’s all I want.

I've got this type of product before and generally it works well, it's hard to tell unless you have a serious pest issue to start with. Two issues with this particular product- 1. There is no outlet on this device so it takes up the one outlet and too bad. Other models of this usually have an outlet on the side. 2. The instructions say to place it in an outlet that is like 2 feet or more up from the floor. Standard outlets in most US houses are 12" from the floor, so this might affect its effectiveness. Just by chance, the very old house we're using this in has an outlet in the dining room/kitchen that's 2 feet up the wall, so I'll update if that room seems to be more effective than the other rooms where the outlets are in the baseboards. Despite advertising 1200sq ft effectiveness, it doesn't work through walls, so unless you live in a large open loft, you'll need the 6 pack.

When these came up for review, I grabbed them so fast I didn't even think about a few factors. Where am I plugging them in? Will they bother my cats? There is NO guarantee that ultrasonic pest repellers of any kind won't bother your cats, THEY CAN. You have to watch for behavior changes, consider that they can hear frequencies much higher than we can. Ever hear an annoying sound, a buzzing, ear ringing, etc? Imagine that always, 24/7, forever. Don't put them in areas where pets frequent. You shouldn't have a rodent issue where the cats are, anyway. The nice thing is that these aren't poison, which can inadvertently end up in pets if they catch or consume rodents and eat them. Same with wildlife catching infected rodents. Owls, raptors, etc. These are definitely better than poison when possible. I am using one in the garage, and one in my shed. I actually put an extension cord in my shed, because I have rodent issues in my shed and no plug. They actually ate into and consumed 10-one ounce bags of poison (my last resort, they are doing so much damage), and still they persist. It's getting cold now, they may be under the shed more than running around, but I am still seeing signs of them so giving these a try. I put this right by the hole they chewed in the shed floor, in hopes it drives them away. I can't say for sure if they are working. It's winter, so not cockroach season. I can say my cats aren't staring out of the patio door into the backyard at night, intently watching critters any more, so that's a great sign. The units seem sturdy, I don't hear anything, so yay for that!
