The media could not be loaded. I have the greasest t-zone on the planet so my glasses get extra weird and a general lens clean doesn't cut it. This 19 oz ultrasonic cleaner has a wide tank to hold objects as large as a pair of eyeglasses. It runs off a provided 12 volt adapter. The instructions are entertaining (they were written by a non-English speaker). It has 2 operating modes, 3 minutes and 5 minutes of run time. There is no frequency selection and no brush was provided (like many competing cleaners). This does boast a higher frequency than most at 47,000 hertz. The power button cycles between the times (3 minutes, 5 minutes, off). The tank is stainless steel, which should make the cleaner more durable. I ran a test on a grimy galvanized wood screw. I wiped the screw before putting it in the tank. I ran the cleaner for a 5 minute pass. Considering it was galvanized, I think the results were positive (it didn't come out of the tank shiny - but it was clean). I detected no visual or operational defects in manufacturing. ... show more

The first thing I cleaned was my pair of glasses. I don’t think these glasses have been this clean since they were new. Awesome. I’m using about a tablespoon of concentrated ultrasonic cleaning fluid mixed with a little over a cup of hot water. The results are amazing. I ended up washing three pairs of glasses and the filthy water after the third pair is astonishing. See my picture. It’s gross that there was that much gunk on three pairs of glasses. I’m converted. However, my real application is to clean industrial needles that are used for a commercial application. They can get dirty and gummed up. So, I use this little ultrasonic cleaner to get them clean and then I blow them out with water. It works great. I haven’t tried it, but this little ultrasonic could clean jewelry as well. To operate, plug it in and push the power button. The default mode is 3 minutes. Push it again and it will run for 5 minutes. For the glasses, I washed them for 5 minutes. Look at the “after washing” picture to see how much dirt came off. Same for the needles. PROS: - Giftable - It works! - Easy to use - Well designed - Small and compact - Expertly manufactured - (4) No-skid feet on bottom - The packaging is first class - Won’t damage delicate items - Two timed modes: 3 and 5 minutes - Large enough to hold a pair of glasses - Really cleans super thoroughly - especially in nooks and crannies which are otherwise difficult to clean - Fantastic value (I paid over $600 for an industrial ultrasonic cleaner which is larger but essentially does the same thing) CONS: - To be honest, one thing that bothered me before I ordered it is that there was no mention nor was there any picture that showed how this thing is powered. Is there a rechargeable battery? Does it plug into the wall? Does it use a power supply? What kind of cord is included? I like to know these things and there was no mention anywhere regarding how this thing is powered. So, I took a leap of faith and now I know that a small corded power supply with a plug for a wall socket is included. However, it would be ideal if the listing showed or mentioned how this device is powered. Overall, this little ultrasonic cleaner greatly exceeded my expectations. It works fantastically and better than I expected. And I could not be happier with this product. It’s a winner. I hope you found this review helpful. ... show more

    • Save yourself a trip to the jeweler for ring cleaning
I got this for my wife so she could clean her rings at home instead of making a trip to the jeweler. She's an artist so her rings get pretty dirty so she was getting them cleaned every few weeks. The jeweler uses an ultrasonic cleaner (much bigger than this one) and then a steam gun to clean everything. I figured at least having this at home would mean she could go to the jeweler every few months instead. I'm happy to say this thing works pretty well. It's not super high powered so you'll need to remember a few things to get the most from it. First of all, always use the 5m timer and just leave your stuff in there the whole time. Next, either add a few drops of dish soap or use window cleaner instead of plain water when you fill it. Last, especially if you're cleaning little stuff like rings, figure out a way to suspend the jewelry in the solution so it doesn't touch the bottom. I used some small paperclips slipped over a chopstick to hang the rings from and you can see there's way more bubbling going on this way. I knocked off a star because you'll still need so use a little elbow grease if you've got really dirty stuff or larger items that don't entirely fit into the bowl. You'll also still need to get your jewelry professionally cleaned once in a while, this is more for "maintenance cleanings" in between those thorough deep cleans. ... show more
