I ordered this for my father-in-law for his hospital bed. Hospice ordered him one so we could put up the rail at night so he would not fall out of bed and so we could raise the bed up high enough so he didn't have to lean back so far to sit and lay down. The only problem was that the mattress was this and uncomfortable. Dad's back hurt because the mattress is so thin and probably too old. This mattress topper adds a good layer of plushness to the mattress that Dad's back didn't hurt anymore. We ended up getting a hospital bed from a friend that had a better mattress, but we still use the topper because Dad liked how plush it felt. Dad moved into a memory care home when we were no longer able to care for him, but he has the furniture from his own bedroom and his comfy chair from the den and more for when we visit him. The topper is easy to wash which is good because of accidents. But someone else ended up with one of the toppers and have not given it back. So I'm buying two more! This time I'm going to label them with Dad's name so that he can enjoy the topper. So now I have enough again, so that if there's an accident, then he has a clean topper waiting in the closet to be put on his bed. I highly recommend this topper. Dad is not hot or cold with it - he says he is just right. It's easy to wash and dry. It had a big elastic section so that it fit the smaller mattress and the new thicker mattress. I'm glad it came in XL Twin size for Dad's hospital bed. If I didn't have a sleep number mattress then I'd use this bamboo topper too. My bed comes with something like this built-in. I hope this review helps you choose what is best for you.

This mattress topper is incredibly soft and comfortable—perfect for adding an extra layer of plushness. I use it on top of a foam pad when my little nephews visit, and it makes a great sleeping setup. I also bring it along for camping, and it holds up really well outdoors. It stays in place, doesn’t shift around, and makes sleeping in a tent way more comfortable. I’m really impressed with the quality—definitely recommend!

Edited/updated after a week of use. This item is definitely still not as thick as I was expecting from the product images. However, I do have to admit it is made a very large difference. Although it is very soft, there is a little support there, and it has made my bed a lot more comfortable. It does take a little while to fully puff up after opening. I still wish that it was dryer safe. (Original review after opening/before use) Definitely not as thick as I was expecting. There’s a definite odor after you unpack it so I would recommend washing it before use. However even though it says it is machine washable the tag says nothing about if it is dry safe, and actually has the symbol not to dry. It seems durable and is as easy to install as a fitted sheet. Not very supportive, but would be fantastic if your mattress is too stiff.

I gave it a 5* because it is nice. My only complaint is this picture and video of how fluffy it gets is not true. I followed the directions and it did not pluff up as it states. One side got a little fluffy other side stayed flat. I did not get in my bed until 16 hours later. Maybe it takes more time? I dont no but it did keep my body temperature cooler and comphy. They show it so nice and thick and plumped up on Amazon but it's not true it's more flat.

The cover feels crisp and breathable. My queen size bed stays noticeably cooler, even in summer. It’s medium-soft, so my back feels supported without being stiff. I saw this mattress pad had a lot of good reviews, so I gave it a shot. It washed and dried well, and fit the mattress snugly... the elastic parts are generous enough to fit pretty deep mattresses. The pad itself covers the mattress without going over. If anything, the pad's 1/4" smaller than the mattress, which isn't a problem to me at all. I'd rather have that than have it go over. The pad is plush (roughly 1 1/2"), and it's enough that I can tell a difference while lying on it without feeling like a mattress topper. I don't know if I sweat less with it, but I definitely don't sweat more. It has a comforting temperature to it. I'm very, very glad I got it!
