  • This is a comfortable, but somewhat limited bag
This bag is a nice size. It's perfect for a limited amount of gear. Right now, mine has a Nikon FE with a 50mm lens and a 85mm lens, plus a few rolls of film. I could put another small lens in there, but I don't think I could comfortably accommodate much more than that. I could see using it for my Rolleiflex, or for my Leica kit. It would be nice if it had a few more compartments for things like filters, SD cards, film, close-up filters, and so forth. The ability to strap on a tripod is nice. There are some strange design decisions though. What on earth are the elastic bits in the front meant for? For the life of me, I'm not sure what they're supposed to secure. Also, the other reviewers are spot on... the velcro is too grippy and becomes a bit of a problem. I do like the bag enough that I'm inclined to see if I can find a way to decrease the velcro. (Maybe Ulanzi will take the hint from ThinkTank and provide away to 'mask' the velcro for when you need to be silent.) I'm also not a fan of the typography. Ulanzi... get yourself a decent graphic designer! But I do like it, I think I'm just going to have to 'hack' it a bit to make it work for me. ... show more

  • Adequate as a small travel bag or day carry
For the price point, this bag is better than what you might expect. The separator is a near identical "borrowing" of the Peak Design origami one, which is a great design. It allows another small lens to be stored under a camera with lens attached. With the two interior slots, one in front and one behind the main compartment, there's adequate storage for a battery, spare SDs, lens cloth, plus your phone, smallish charger, and whatnot. The bag isn't heavy on the padding, but it really is plenty for street carry. As for size, it holds a mirrorless camera and two lenses easily without cramming. There's also another zippered exterior pouch on the back of the bag, more secure for carrying valuables since it would typically be next to your back or side and not easily accessed by someone passing by. It lacks the little touches like separate pockets for SD cards, batteries or camera accessories, but makes up for it with bottom straps for a tripod or water bottle pouch, something the more expensive bags often omit. The one thing that keeps this from being a 4-5 star bag is the Velcro closure. It's loud to open and attracting attention, flops back closed if you let go of it, and with an unnecessary amount used it's a two-handed operation to open. If they switched to a magnetic or zipper closure, it would easily be a 4 star bag. The Velco holds it back from being great. But still, for the price, it would be hard to find a better one. ... show more

  • Great EDC Bag for Pocket 3 and Action 4
My main video cams these days are compact little Pocket 3 and Action 3. This bag is perfect for carrying them and a tripod plus my art supplies as I go about my day. It's well padded without being VERY heavy. the strap pad is comfortable and feels good. I like that the strap is long enough and easy to pull snug when needed. I can wear this while I ride my bike too. Honestly, I really like this bag and it fits my needs perfectly. I can carry my 8x10 sketchbook (roughly A4) and an assortment of art supplies as well as my 2 cams and the tripods I like. The addition of the PALS/ MOLLE strips on the front means I can add on additional bags as needed. The outer pockets mean I can carry a water bottle and another tripod if needed. It's just the right size for me. ... show more

  • A rather nice, small messenger-style camera bag for the price - noisy to open
My biggest gripe about messenger-style sling bags for cameras is that they don't hold much, and this small bag is no exception. It feels well made. padding is adequate, but not as padded as my big commercial-grade camera bags. But it doesn't hold as much as my compact, but "thicker" camera bag that has additional zippered compartments. I like that one can attach a tripod to the bottom, though. I often have to improvise that with my other compact camera bags or bring a separheate tripod strap or bag. This bag is also compact enough that it can pass for a purse in some situations where large bags are banned. I'm not wild about the shoulder strap. As is common with many messenger bags, there is a buckle you can use to disconnect the shoulder strap in the middle so you don't have to take it off over your head. but I don't think it is necesary in this bag and the buckle is in an akwared place for me. Also, there is no extra strap to keep the messenger bag in place when biking like my other messenger bags have - not a big deal, but it is a feature I sometimes use, though those bags are bigger. The other major flaw in this bag is that it doesn't have a quiet open option. The flap is held closed by velcro. There are no buckles as an alternative. So opening the bag is always noisy as you un-velcro the flap to open. This makes the bag impractical to use in many quiet situations. ... show more

  • For about $30, it's pretty good
I really like the shape of this sling bag, which is why I got it. I have a few other slings that are not as wide but are thicker front to back. Those bags are nice, but they tend to get weighed down and want to flop forward. This one is nice and wide so it should be better about spreading the weight out better. It also seems like it is pretty good quality for the amount of money that it costs. If you are in the market for a sling bag, I'd say it is worth giving this one a try. There really isn't much difference from this to bags that are much more expensive like the ones from Peak Design, Wandrd, and Think Tank (three of my favorite bag makers). Of course, they are better but you are spending a lot more money on those brands for minor differences. I have other Ulanzi photography gear and their stuff is great quality at a fair price. ... show more
