    • Almost perfect device for my use case
I switch between my desktop and my laptop. Originally ran a keyboard, mouse, USB microphone (FIFINE), and a DAC/Amp (Fiio E07K). With all four connected, there were some issues. Sometimes the DAC did not switch and required to be disconnected/reconnected. My keyboard would hold strokes, and the mouse would not move every 4-5 seconds. This was prior to connecting external power to it, so I just assumed that was the issue. Despite adding power from an outlet, I still had the same issues. Disconnecting the DAC/Amp resolved all my issues. Keyboard and mouse work as expected, and the mic works just as well. I still have the external power connected. I currently have the DAC/Amp on a separate cable connected directly to either computer. I swap that around depending on what machine I'm using. Unfortunate, but a minor inconvenience given how much less manual swapping I have to deal with. ... show more

I have a laptop and a PC gamer, and to be able to change between work and gaming with just one button is just perfect. I just need to plug whatever I need to the USB ports, in my case the keyboard and mouse and connect the other usb to the laptop and the PC. It works as magic. I forgot KVMs existed until I was given a opportunity to WFH. Used to have to use a separate KB+M until I realized KVMs existed. When I set this box up and connected my 4 peripherals (Standalone Mic, IEMS with USB Adapter, Keyboard, and Mouse) switching between my rig and work laptop is seamless and quick. Word of warning, the USB plug is only required if data transferring a HDD or thumb drive or connecting a camera as it's processing real time data. Switching speed is fine. It does its job. Being small puts jacks on both sides making cable management impossible. There are 2 small lights that are close together that indicate which it selected. It would be nice if there were different colors. But like I said, it does its job.

Not much to say as it is switching perfectly and works as expected. My one gripe is that my desk is next to a window and with the light coming in (not direct sunlight), I can only tell if it's on USB or USB2 by shading the LEDs with my hand and bending over and getting pretty close. First World problem to be sure, but I have to do that every time if I need to make sure it's switched correctly. ... show more

It works well. It wasn't working for me when plugged into an external USB hub but that's because it needed the USB power.if you have disconnecting issues make sure to plug in the USB power and check your USB cable to make sure it can handle enough current/power.

    • A Great Way to Fake a KVM Switch
O.k. so I have a Macbook Pro and a Dell, which dual boots Windows and Linux. I was using two keyboards, two mice, and two usb audio to 1/8 inch audio converter - one for each system. I was used to old school KVMs and I didn't want to deal with buying a nice one. Then I found this. I've read the horror stories in the one star reviews but for me it works. I have the Macally Aluminum Mac/PC wired keyboard and the Asus Proart 2478qv. These are important because a) the Macally actually works with both Mac and PC (a few others I tried hated Macs) and b) the Proart has every possible display input imaginable. So, the Mac uses the display port and the Windows/Linux laptop uses the HDMI port. If both machines are on, using the UGREEN works perfectly (a no brainer really). If I'm on the Windows machine and the Mac is sleeping and I sleep the Windows machine and switch the Mac it wakes, the Proart switches the input and everything works. The reverse, not so much, which is a Windows issue, not a Ugreen issue. Basically I have to manually unsleep the Windows machine (hitting the power button), then it wakes up and...everything works. There's no lag in the mouse/keyboard and the audio works from both machines. I've only had this for a few hours but playing around with it is pretty great. For $20 and a keyboard and monitor that can handle Mac, Windows, and Linux I've got a KVM without having to actually buy a KVM. I'm curious as to the longevity of the Ugreen but it allowed me to go from two keyboards, two mice, and two usb to 1/8th inch converters (and two pairs of headphones) to one of each.
