  • Great little switch so far but not perfect for everything
I purchased this switch as I got a new job working from home so I wanted to experiment with using the same set of perphirals for both my work & personal PC as I haven't decided on setting up an extra keyboard/getting a keyboard tray. This was a good time to buy since this is supposed to upgrade the very popular 4-USB3 switch Ugreen has been selling for a few years now and I feel like this is a warranted upgrade. Overall this switch has worked almost flawlessly in my week of use. I have plugged into it my Hyperx 60 keyboard and all the lights & effects/settings I set up still work when plugged in, a G703 mouse and my Logitech C920 camera outputting to my personal desktop and my work laptop. I have tried it both with and without the extra USB C power "boost" and while everything works I think my mouse drains a little quicker (maybe using more battery since the switch isn't meeting 100% power?? might have to test more) but the keyboard and webcam seem to have no issues, I generally do keep a usbc plugged in though just in case. Latency hasnt really been a problem, I tried a mouse latency site with my mouse plugged into my PC and the switch and they both were pretty much the same (and low) which is honestly important for me as I am a big gamer so making sure lag is minimzed is a priority. The only real issue I have had was that I tried using my headphones plugged into the Apple 3.5mm to USBC dongle inputting into the switch and about every 30-40 mins I would get absolutely AWFUL static and noise and it didnt matter how I oriented the dongle so Im guessing there mightve been some interference between the dongle and switch. Overall I'd recommend this as it's great for minimizing desk clutter without compromising performance and it's very affordable at around $35, which is in line with the previous model when it was the main one. It also comes with a little "remote" extension sol you can put the switch somewhere and then have the remote button in a more convenient spot if you're swapping a lot; I haven't used it but it is a nice addition. I wish there was a 3.5mm jack input even if it meant the model being a little larger but this is pretty much a solid buy for anyone WFH or using multiple computers. ... show more

  • So far so good
Works as advertised. I have had much cheaper ones but they don't seem to last. This one costs 2x as much, so I am hoping for longer lasting product. My only complaint is that the remote does not have an indicator. The unit itself has an LED indicator, but the whole point of the remote is to hide the unit (and all the wires sticking out of it). Other than that design oversight, it seems to do the job well. ... show more

  • Great for switching for two computers
I just got this switch a few days ago and I’ll update later with a more long term review but everything works great. The switch is more aimed at people that need to only switch the usb components and not hdmi or dp components but works great for only that purpose. Was super easy to set up along with having a little button to keep the cables hidden. Even has a usb c port on it. The only complaint I have is that when I plug in an iPad or iPhone into the usb c port on it my keyboard and mouse will disconnect sometimes but I’m pretty sure that because I have an corsair k95 keyboard that uses a lot of power. ... show more

  • Good Looking KVM That Does What You Need
TL:DR Overall, if your setup uses two computing devices then this is a very convenient way to use one set of peripherals without the need to physically switch them from one to the other. The build quality is very good and it looks nice enough to leave on top of your desk, but through the remote button gives you the option to hide it away and retain the convenience of quick switching functionality. The UGREEN USB 3.0 Switch is a good looking and convenient device that allows you so switch between two computers while using the same peripherals without the need to physically switch wires or dongles. I tested it on a setup that uses a MacBook Pro and Gaming PC for compute devices with a wired mechanical keyboard and wireless mouse for peripherals. Set up is straight forward out of the box, but does require you to think through how you want to plug different devices in. This unit includes one USB-C port on the front which is a nice touch but may not be applicable to everyone (UGREEN offers a switch with more USB-A ports if you require). The included USB-A to USB-A cables are good enough and a nice addition to the box, but not the highest quality quality available. The unit has solid build quality and looks good sitting on your desk, but it could be a little heavier to ensure it slides less when plugging things in (there are small rubber feet on the bottom, which help in this regard). The included remote button is a welcomed option that allows you to hide the switch away under your desk while retaining the ability to switch between computers with the press of a button. This is the situation I would recommend if you don't often switch the USB devices you use in your set up or if your desk space aesthetics are important to you. There is an option to plug in a USB-C for power in the rear of the device, although this is not required for the device to function. I can't find under what situation the additional power is needed, but if the USB devices you need require power to be supplied then you will need to supply your own power adaptor and cable. Some of the labeling on the device/marketing is confusing as it says the ports on the front are "output" and the ports connecting to the computers are "input". In my mind these would be reversed but once in hand its simple enough to discern what cables should go where. Overall, if your setup or workflow requires you to switch between computers then this is a great way to save some time and hassle by easily moving peripherals between them with a push of a button. This devices offers a good mix of functionality, flexibility, and aesthetics that would be a welcomed addition to any setup. ... show more
