Description

Chanel: The Karl Lagerfeld Campaigns includes a carefully curated selection of photographs that showcase hundreds of spectacular clothes worn by the top fashion models and personalities of multiple eras. Filled with more than 600 photographs plus an essay by fashion writer Patrick Mauriès, the book offers an unrivaled overview of the house of Chanel as seen through the eyes—and lens—of Karl Lagerfeld himself. Organized chronologically, the photographs highlight fashion superstars including Christy Turlington, Linda Evangelista, and Kate Moss in such glamorous locations as Coco Chanel’s Paris apartment, the French Riviera, and Rodeo Drive. When Karl Lagerfeld was appointed to the helm of the then-sleepy fashion house Chanel in 1983, he set out to radically reinvent its image—not only through bold collections, but also by shooting the house’s campaigns himself. Lagerfeld’s photographs breathed life into the brand. His campaigns spanned the house’s collections—luxurious haute couture, ready-to-wear, cruise, accessories—and established Lagerfeld as a sought-after fashion photographer. Whether for displaying, gifting, or enjoying as an excursion through the house of Chanel, this coffee table book is not to be missed. Read more

  • Fast delivery and excellent book
Format: Paperback
Brand new book, fast delivery. The book is a must have, excellent pictures and even though it's a soft cover book, it comes with it own book holder, so you can see it on any bookshelf. Nice

  • Gorgeous and simple white/black inside!
Format: Paperback
The media could not be loaded. Loved the simple stark white cover with black typeface. Also, the book itself is a heavy linen cover...thicker than a regular paperback, but pliable - not stiff like a "hardcover" book. The pictures are, of course, gorgeous and other than labeling which year and season the images are from, an introduction, and some model credits, it is not a book to read or gain any insight into Karl's vision and his work for Chanel, or history; it is mainly a pictorial. If you like minimal white and black, as Mademoiselle Chanel did, you will love to display this book! ... show more
