Adds a few extra ports for the new M4 Mac Mini for a fair price. The front USB type A ports are very handy along with the front mounted SD card slots. The rear has even more ports. I liked it so much I got one for my wife as well. It looks and feels like an Apple product and fits perfectly under my M4 Mac Mini, well done UGreen. One nice thing is that it doesn't appear to affect the Wi-Fi connection as some reviews have suggested.

I rarely call accessories "essential," but if you own the new M4 Mac Mini—especially the base model—this Ugreen dock is basically a mandatory upgrade. It fixes all of Apple’s usual limitations (mainly the storage and port situation) in a clean, compact, and surprisingly well-priced package. Let’s start with the port layout, because it’s one of the reasons I chose this particular configuration. Front Ports: Two USB-A ports + SD and microSD card slots Back Ports: Three USB-C ports and three USB-A ports Ugreen also makes a version with a DisplayPort and headphone jack, but I passed on that one since the Mac Mini already has a headphone jack, and I don’t use DisplayPort—I run everything via HDMI or USB-C. The version I chose makes way more sense for a content creator, photographer, or anyone who regularly transfers files from a camera, drone, or GoPro. The front-facing SD card slot and microSD slot save me from having to dig around for an external adapter every time I need to offload footage. But the real killer feature is the NVMe SSD enclosure built into the dock. No, it’s not going to match the speed of the internal Apple SSD—but for storing files, archiving projects, or keeping your main drive free from clutter, it’s more than fast enough. I installed a 1TB NVMe SSD, and now I have basically doubled my Mac Mini’s storage at a fraction of what Apple would charge to upgrade it. Plus, it stays permanently connected and behaves just like an internal secondary drive. Seamless. Build quality is excellent too. The dock is color-matched to the M4 Mac Mini and designed with the exact footprint in mind—it sits right underneath the computer like it was meant to be there from the start. There’s even a cutout that gives easier access to the power button, which is a small touch but a super thoughtful one. If your Mac is sitting flat on your desk, that button can be hard to reach—Ugreen fixed that. I also want to highlight that this dock doesn’t take up extra desk space. Because the Mac Mini sits on top of it, you’re not cluttering your workspace with another box and more cables. It consolidates everything cleanly, which matters a lot if you’re going for a minimalist desk setup. Final Thoughts: This is one of the few accessories I’ve bought recently that I immediately felt good about. It’s functional, affordable, and designed with the user in mind. Apple might prefer we spend hundreds more on upgrades, but Ugreen gives you all the essentials at a much better value. If you’re running the base M4 Mac Mini, don’t even think twice—just get this.

I purchased the UGREEN Mac Mini Base for my brand new M4 Mac Mini. I was attracted by three things: the price, the ability to connect an NVMe SSD, and the fact that it has the same form factor as the Mac Mini. The unit was dead easy to install right out of the box—I connected the SSD in its slot, screwed everything down, and connected the computer using the cable that perfectly aligned with the USB port. They even made a design accommodation for the power button, making it much easier to press without lifting the unit. The one disappointing thing about this unit is that the computer sits on top of the UGREEN base with no latching or attachment mechanism, which means that every time you connect a drive or touch the computer, it slides off the base. I had to solve this with a bit of double-sided tape, which is not ideal. A better groove to seat the computer would have worked just fine, but my workaround has proven effective without any help from the maker. Overall, I am satisfied with the performance, look, and functionality of the unit, particularly its selection of ports, which include SD and microSD card slots, several USB 3.0 Type-A ports, and an additional USB-C port—all of which come in handy for a computer that offers minimal built-in connectivity options.

When I bought my new Mac mini M4, I intentionally chose the base 256 GB SSD model to save money, knowing I could expand storage externally. After testing several hubs, this UGREEN Dock & Stand for Mac mini M4 turned out to be the perfect solution — combining style, speed, and practicality. Setup was simple: I installed a Samsung 990 EVO Plus 1 TB NVMe SSD (available here on Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DHLFWBQ1) in the built-in enclosure and connected it to one of the rear Thunderbolt ports. It was instantly recognized with no setup needed. The Mini sits neatly on top of the dock, keeping my workspace clean and cable management effortless. Why this setup makes sense: Instead of paying Apple’s premium for a larger internal SSD, I invested in this dock and a high-performance NVMe drive. The result: triple the storage and full-speed performance for a fraction of the cost. ⭐ 5/5 — A smart, powerful, and elegant upgrade for any Mac mini M4 owner.
