I rarely call accessories "essential," but if you own the new M4 Mac Mini—especially the base model—this Ugreen dock is basically a mandatory upgrade. It fixes all of Apple’s usual limitations (mainly the storage and port situation) in a clean, compact, and surprisingly well-priced package. Let’s start with the port layout, because it’s one of the reasons I chose this particular configuration. Front Ports: Two USB-A ports + SD and microSD card slots Back Ports: Three USB-C ports and three USB-A ports Ugreen also makes a version with a DisplayPort and headphone jack, but I passed on that one since the Mac Mini already has a headphone jack, and I don’t use DisplayPort—I run everything via HDMI or USB-C. The version I chose makes way more sense for a content creator, photographer, or anyone who regularly transfers files from a camera, drone, or GoPro. The front-facing SD card slot and microSD slot save me from having to dig around for an external adapter every time I need to offload footage. But the real killer feature is the NVMe SSD enclosure built into the dock. No, it’s not going to match the speed of the internal Apple SSD—but for storing files, archiving projects, or keeping your main drive free from clutter, it’s more than fast enough. I installed a 1TB NVMe SSD, and now I have basically doubled my Mac Mini’s storage at a fraction of what Apple would charge to upgrade it. Plus, it stays permanently connected and behaves just like an internal secondary drive. Seamless. Build quality is excellent too. The dock is color-matched to the M4 Mac Mini and designed with the exact footprint in mind—it sits right underneath the computer like it was meant to be there from the start. There’s even a cutout that gives easier access to the power button, which is a small touch but a super thoughtful one. If your Mac is sitting flat on your desk, that button can be hard to reach—Ugreen fixed that. I also want to highlight that this dock doesn’t take up extra desk space. Because the Mac Mini sits on top of it, you’re not cluttering your workspace with another box and more cables. It consolidates everything cleanly, which matters a lot if you’re going for a minimalist desk setup. Final Thoughts: This is one of the few accessories I’ve bought recently that I immediately felt good about. It’s functional, affordable, and designed with the user in mind. Apple might prefer we spend hundreds more on upgrades, but Ugreen gives you all the essentials at a much better value. If you’re running the base M4 Mac Mini, don’t even think twice—just get this.

I got this hub at a nice price on the prime day sale. It matches well with my Mac mini and I like the cutout for the power button. I use this for my keyboard/mouse dongle and sd cards. I am still shopping for a SSD to add. It's a nice piece and everything works so far. The plastic finish is close to the Mac mini's textured aluminum finish but is shinier so it almost matches. I really like this hub. I do have regrets because some lower end or used thunderbolt 3/4 hubs are at this same price point with some of the same ports at USB4 specs. I'm kinda torn but I do appreciate what this ugreen hub offers.

Integrates perfectly with the Mac Mini as was intended. Makes for a small footprint. Plenty of ports. Nice to have the SD card reader as the Mini does not have one. Heat level is inconsequential. A good buy as I purchased on one of the Amazon sale days.

A good product. Easy to set up and use. Looks great with my Mini. A couple of things need more explanation though. One, Its not clear what the power receptacle is for. I works without external power. Also, clearer info on how the SSD drive works once installed.

Pretty ok is what I can say. It doesn’t have the same mechanical precision as the Mac so it tends to slide around instead of just neatly sitting in place. It’s too bad they didn’t decide to use another TB5 port on the Mac because most folks, like me, will plug drives into these and the single port’s bandwidth is not sufficient for the number of ports on the dock.

Does just what it is supposed to do. Fits my Mac mini 4 perfectly and matches well. Helps integration for those of us with older peripherals by providing more options than come on the mini itself. So far has worked great for me, just hooked it up right out of the box.
