I've been using it for few months now. Sound is very good: I could not hear distortion when I compare it to same earphones that have direct connection to the Iphone. I have the old apple earphones, and the new ones too, so I use it for the old ones. I also have another adapter that costed me about the same. This one is much much, way better than the other one (which is really impressive looking, metal coated and so on). Initially, I bought this in May 2022 and it worked wonders for months. It was a sturdy adapter that seemed like it would stand the test of time, even with my frequent use. I'd take it with me everywhere and it still had a sturdy build; the wire was thick and reassured me that it would give me a solid connection to my phone at all times. Even if my phone was in my pants pocket, my jacket pocket, or if my phone fell on the floor, my headphones stayed tethered to the adapter and never showed signs that it would be even remotely close to breaking. So you can imagine how sad I felt when I lost it :( So I recently reordered it in October 2022 and it already feels like the quality went down by a good amount. Holding it in my hand right out of the box, the wire felt much easier to bend and much less durable than the one I initially bought in May. When I have my phone in my pockets or if it falls on the floor, the adapter easily wiggles loose or disconnects completely. Sometimes my music would crackle unless I messed around with the adapter a bit. This morning when I connected it to my phone for a call, the sound started to crackle in my headphones and the person on the other end was no longer able to hear me properly. I tried using it again twice, and the use of the adapter ended up hanging up the call by accident both times. I've only had this adapter for a month and it's already starting to break on me. If I still had the one I bought from May, I would most definitely continue using it today; and I'm sure it would continue the work the way that it has been for months before I lost it. Even if it was starting to break, it would've lasted much longer than this second one I just bought in October. I'm hoping that this wasn't a result of an intentional move from the company to cut down production costs...because with this drop in quality, it shows!! If you're planning on buying this, I'd say it's a much better investment than buying the original adapter from Apple. However, be wary of its quality. I'm interested to hear from other people who've bought this recently to see if they are experiencing the same issues. Build quality is evident. The braised coating should protect the wires from breaking. This adapter, while more expensive, should be many times more durable than the dongle that Apple sells. Have gone through several of those; lesson learned. I should have bought this one long ago.

Ditched wireless headsets/ear buds for WFH because people keep saying they could not hear me. Finally went back to old fashioned wired headset with mic and using this adapter on a iPhone 12 lightening port. Works well for phone calls.

I used this adapter as my main headphones and music adapter for about 3 months from July to September 2021. During that time, it performed exactly the same as the original apple aux adapter. I was initially confident that it would last several years due to its premium build quality and solid connection in my phone's lightning port. However, in mid-September, I dropped my phone on the floor with my headphones plugged in and the tongue of metal that holds the lightning connector's gold contacts broke off. A couple weeks later, I got into a car accident with my original Apple adapter, and that one stayed intact even though it was banged about quite a bit more than this one. I find it odd that a cheaper adapter subjected to much more stress survived. Perhaps I just got a bad one. Pros: Original apple sound quality in a more stylish package Supports mic (use 4 pole aux cord for this) Cons: More expensive than the original apple dongle Build quality may be inconsistent. ... show more
