This is a great Ugears kit. There is a mechanical aspect to the kit, so I wouldn't quite call it "entry level". I do, however, think that anyone who has good manual dexterity would enjoy this as a beginner's kit. My only complaint is that it doesn't actually function normally. It goes in three hour increments every time the minute hand goes around. This means that I can't set it at ten minutes to two to display. Oh, well.

I bought it as an engineering project and it was super simple. Unfortunately the minute hand and the hour hand don’t align properly after you’ve spun it a couple of times, there’s a bad gear ratio there
