This speaker is amazing! I bought it about 8 months ago, and still has the same awesome sound quality and battery life that it did when I purchased it. The shape seemed a bit weird at first, but now I love it. Now I can jam out while cooking dinner, while riding my bike, while kayaking down the river, or hiking or anything!The bungee cord on the back is incredibly stretchy and durable. The charging time is pretty reasonable, and the speaker is made made out of some pretty tough materials. I have dropped a couple of times and it had zero problems with it. The Bluetooth strength is pretty good, and can go up to about 150 feet with newer phones that have Bluetooth 5, Or 30-50 feet with normal phones. This speaker works well with Apple or Android devices. If you have a smartphone, I highly recommend recommend getting the UE Roll app, it is very easy to use and it has a lot of super useful features. One of my favorite uses of the UE app is that if you lose your speaker, you can turn it on from your phone, crank up some music, and boom, there it is! Anyways some pros and cons: Pros: Very good battery life Small Flat, so it fits into a bag very easily Very good sound quality, especially for the size Very useful app, that adds a lot of functions Cons: Charging port and aux port are hard to get to THE ONLY THING THAT I REALLY HATE ABOUT THIS SPEAKER: it has no ability to play/pause/skip from the speaker, which is really annoying sometimes. The speaker is easy to get dirty So, to sum it up, I highly recommend this product, and if you are waffling between the UE Roll 1 and 2, get the 2, it has better Bluetooth strength and sound quality. ... show more

I've had this speaker for years and have taken it everywhere shine or rain. I once left it outside and thought I lost it. 2 months later after rain and sun exposure it still works! I appreciate a product that is made to last. Sound quality is good too. Specially for the price.

These speakers are awesome!!! I bought two of them to pair up and use on my motorcycle. I strap them on the shoulder straps of a backpack and cruise around blasting my favorite music. For this application they are perfect. They are loud enough to hear over the wind, the engine noise, and through a helmet. While paired and put in stereo mode (through the free UE phone app) it can’t be easier to adjust the volume. Even through motorcyle gloves it is easy to feel the plus and minus symbols to adjust the volume depending on the riding conditions. While in stereo mode, adjusting the volume on either of the speakers will lower or raise the volume on both. I love that they are small and lightweight but built with quality materials. The waterproof factor is very reassuring. The only cons I can think of is the lack of bass (small sacrifice to pay for all the benefits) and the lack of battery life. Using the speakers on my bike required them to be full blast almost all of the time. Running the paired speakers gives you about 3-4 hours of play time. Full rich sound in a surprisingly light package. The shock cord clip allows this to attach to a belt, backpack, door handle, or just about anywhere you are. Quick to charge and easy to use. I use it while walking, fishing, or working around the house. I've gotten it wet twice with no issues. Once on the outside of a daypack during a heavy rain and the other fully submerged when I knocked a pack into the stream. I spent eight hours yesterday cleaning out the basement storage room. I hung this on the wall and started the music. Great sound all day long helped a dreary task go more quickly. You can pair multiple phones with it and switch off songs or playlists. Another feature I like is that if you press the up volume and down volume at the same time a pleasant voice will tell you your remaining battery power (e.g. "sixty percent charge"). There is no guessing if it is charged or how much charge is left. Yes the app also has a visual display on your phone but I don't always use with my phone. There is a mini-RCA (3.5 mm) jack which lets me plug in a portable turntable or an old iPod. I looked at reviews and the UE Roll 2 was in the top three for each of the lists I saw. I went to a couple of stores and got a feel for what I liked and for sound. This won hands down for the combination of sound, portability, and the ease of attachment. Pros Packs easily; durable, decent sound quality (albeit mono); holds charge a long time, receives signal from 20-30 feet away, stayed water tight after accidentally dropping it (yikes) into 15 feet of water (total immersion < 3 minutes); integrated bungy cord works great Cons Can sound a little tinny on the trebles and washed out on the bass. Stereo requires two speakers connected via app in IOS 10. Getting the USB charging cable into the slot is a tad wonky. The waterproof flap can easily become compromised with sand - ensure the groove is dirt/sand free and really check that the flap is seated properly to ensure water resistance as my friend discovered the hard way ... Bottom line Appropriately priced for its quality and intended use: rugged, multiple mounting options, good sound reproduction considering its small and flat form factor.
