The magnets are WEAK. They claim 66 pounds of force. My assessment is the magnet strength is only about 25 pounds of holding force.

So far I have not used this on a vehicle yet, but the magnetic base is extremely strong. Well built, and this base will not go anywhere once attached to the top of a vehicle.

Not a very big mount. Magnets so weak would not support the mount with no antenna on side of metal box.
