When we have a "wanna-be" sculptor join our club in The Villages, we supply this kit. It has all the basic tools. When new sculptor gets more proficient there are a couple of other tools we recommend - but that is it. This is a very good value, and the tools come in very nice zip cases. Unfortunately, when you use the tools a lot, you don't use the cases anymore and put your tools in a more open type of toolbox. I have been working with ceramics for about 3 years now but it's all been in high school where I've always been provided with the materials I've needed, ever since I graduated I knew I needed to buy a new set of tools to deal with all this clay I had waiting for me, and I'm really glad I chose this! The cases that come with this set of a bunch of tools (that are also fantastic and finely crafted) are awesome because you don't need to carry around the tools in some unprofessional manner like a flimsy bag that will easily be ruined since these tools are pretty sharp (couple of ones I borrowed from school stabbed my backpack). Although unrelated-- I bought this150 set of colored prismacolor pencils and it was really frustrating because it didn't come with a portable carrying case-- glad I don't need to deal with that same problem with this! Beginner or not, this is a wonderful set if recommend anyone to have. The cases also have plenty of space to add more tools (I managed to place 12 more comfortably in one of the two cases! You could fit more if you wanted... A good 5 more could probably fit) . Make sure that you keep your tools clean and dry before zipping up the tools since the case will probably grow moldy! Happy sculpting/crafting/ throwing/molding/ etc.! :) (not sure what word to use...) ... show more

They arrived well within the time that they were supposed to and they put a huge smile on my girlfriend's face. She said that they were perfect and that she loved them. Would recommend them to anyone who is looking for an affordable set. I would say the only thing that I knocked this product for was the smell that came off of the tools.
