FYI, mounting hardware (nuts & bolts) are NOT included. I bought this winch to replace an old winch (steel cable) on a trailer for my 14' Lund boat. The bolt holes did not align with the existing holes. So I had to drill an additional 3/8" hole on the winch post. No big deal if you have the tools. I have yet to use the winch to load the boat, so I'll follow up with additional comments in the near future. ... show more

Crank direction lever is a little tricky. It works but you need coordinate tension of load on the line and turn the crank handle at the same time while switching the lever. Not sure if that come across understandable but it's just a little tricky getting the direction lever switched between in and out. It works fine though for what I need. I unspooled the cable and hook it came with and was able to spool three 1/4" cheap poly ropes from Harbor Freight. I gave it 4 stars for durability because I only started using it yesterday 06.25.2022 ... show more

I used this on my hanging station for butchering hogs and deer. Easy to install and easy to crank. Pulled a 350 pound hog from 20 yards away, laying on the ground, up in the air with ease.

It’s probably going to be a great product… besides the fact it rusted after the first rain. The gear sprocket thing immediately begins rusting. If you want this to be a nice piece for a boat trailer, you’ll replace it after a year of use.
