We got the size that was suggested for my daughters head measurements but it was a little big. We are still keeping helmet for her to grow into. I suggest going a few inches down for measurements suggested size.

My kids love these. They look cool and keep junk off their faces when riding. They run small though so if your child has a really big head you may want to size up.

I bought this helmet for my child for in-door kart racing. It is a very nice helmet for the price. However, the sizing chart is off by about two sized. My wife, my child's race instructor, and me measured my child's head numerous times and we all came to the same number, 21 and 1/2 inches (see picture). The sizing chart clearly states that an XL helmet is recommended for 21 to 22 inches. The XL youth helmet we received was so big that my child could almost rotate it 360 degrees around their head. The next morning I contacted customer service and explained the issue but in the end had to pay for return shipping. I have purchased dozens of helmets using sizing charts and never had a helmet this far off. I hope the sizing chart is revisited and corrected in the near future so others will not have to be disappointed and be charged unnecessary return shipping fees. ... show more
