Honestly worth the price. Being able to have my iPad look and feel like a laptop, while still running the iPadOS I’m comfortable with is awesome. I love that it’s magnetic vs a case system so I can fully remove my iPad with ease. The pink color is adorable and matches my entire computer room aesthetic. The backlit keys are great and the overall function from the case is better than I expected. It’s very sturdy and doesn’t move positions when you hold it in your lap.

At first, I loved this keyboard case. The extra row of keys (modeled on the MacBook keyboard) really helped: sometimes I can't get an app to swipe closed, and the task switcher key solves that issue. Plus the microphone button makes doing voice input trivially easy to start. And the magnetic attachment/cantilever design is just like the Apple Magic Keyboard I already have. I mainly bought this new keyboard case because the old one has started periodically losing connection so that typing doesn't work and I need to restart the iPad. So far, so good. Now the bad: it _is_ heavier. The Magic Keyboard is 1 lb 9.7 oz (728.6 grams), while this typecase Keyboard Case is 1 lb 13.7 oz (842 grams). So this new one is 15% heavier, which isn't a ton, but it's noticeable. Plus the magnets are apparently weaker: with the Apple device, I could slide the iPad closer to me by pulling on the iPad itself and the whole thing would slide over. With this, most of the time the exact same procedure causes the iPad to pop loose. Probably the greater weight also has an effect here, I can't tell. So I'm stuck. I like those extra keys, and the build quality seems pretty good. I think the hinge is _slightly_ wobblier than the Apple one, but overall it seems solid. And the backlighting is also cool. But the iPad popping off is irritating, as is the startup lag (for the Bluetooth to settle down) . If the Apple Magic Keyboard had all the keys of the MacBook or this typecase, I'd really be a happy camper. OR if this typecase had better magnets and quicker connections, I'd accept the weight.

Got this one after trying 2 others. This one is GREAT. The magnet on the back holds your iPad securely, there’s a loop that helps contain your Apple Pencil on while you’re transporting your ipad to a different location or just holds it in place. The keys are AWESOME! Brightly lit, easy to type on especially if you’re a touch typist. The lighted keys make it easy to see in dimly lit areas. The touch pad is super sensitive (just like an Apple Magic Keyboard). PLUS there’s the extra row of keys at the top that Apple doesn’t have that makes the keyboard extra functional. This on is a keeper for sure. The battery stays charged for a long time too. Doesn’t wear down in a matter of a couple hours use. I could easily go for 2-3 weeks without charging (although I don’t in case of urgency). No lag and connected super easy with my 3rd generation iPad. Great product. Will definitely be buying an extra for a reaplacement for later. Don’t want to take a chance they aren’t available down the road again like I did my first one. Worth every penny.

There are four things I wish I’d known about this Typecase before I bought it so that I didn’t now have to return it. Those things are: 1. I ordered a navy blue case but got a black one. I minor issue, but it was the straw that broke the (figurative) camel’s back here. 2. The major dislike is that the keyboard is black, and while the keys themselves are backlit around the edges,(see photo), the symbols on the keys are NOT back-lit! The characters themselves are printed in a muted or screened white, and they are very difficult to see unless the room you’re in has bright ambient light. I find myself searching for the asterisk, the apostrophe, or even a comma and I am, after one day, tired of the hunt-and-peck typing so reminiscent of my high school days. 3. The instruction sheet is printed mostly in two-point type. Two point type is 2/72nds of an inch high. I have excellent eyesight, but I cannot read the instruction sheet without a magnifying glass. I’ve read some of the sheet, but the experience reinforces my desire to return the Typecase. 4. Say goodbye to auto punctuation and spell-check. Type “im” on the iPad and you get “I’m”; on the Typecase you get exactly what you typed in. So it’s going back, mainly because of the functionally NON-backlit keys. On the plus side, the case is sturdy and appears well made. It opens and stays open, grips my iPad firmly, and the keyboard is comfortable to use. I’d like to keep it, but the keys being black holes outlined by some non-functional backlighting kills it for me. LP
