I have been looking for years for a solution to my hair not holding a curl for more than an hour—no exaggeration. This is it! The instant cooling is a revelation ! I’m still experimenting with what products go best with it to get the longest results, but at LEAST for the rest of the day that I use the TYMO, my hair holds the curls fantastically. It’s honestly a small miracle! I just wish it was also sold in a larger size so I could make larger curls, and it does pull on my hair unless I use pretty small sections (which then makes VERY tight curls, which isn’t always the look I want). Love how it curls your hair! the on/off button is right where you place your thumb while curling and you turn it off by accident. It is a little frustrating to keep turning on the fan or the power. A slight manufacturing change would make this the best curling iron ever!

I am super surprised by how much I love this. First of all, I’ve never curled my hair before. I mean, there was that one time in college when my friend made me try and she laughed the entire time because of how pathetic it was to watch. I just didn’t have the “touch”, I guess. It seemed like sorcery, and I’m no sorceress. However, I just got my hair done, and have been on a personal “glow up” mission this year, so I figured now is the time to dedicate to learning. I had my hairdresser show me how I should do it, then bought this. I actually waited a bit to try it after it was delivered because I didn’t have high ones for it. I have SUPER thick hair - both in terms of quantity and quality of each strand - and another WAY more expensive option didn’t work. So, this was all I had left. When I finally sat down to do it, I was SHOCKED. In like 20 minutes, I had curled my hair. And it actually looked decent. Now, I’m obsessed with this hair gadget. I use it for both straightening and curling, and love it for both. It heats up quickly, and I love the fan action. I feel like the air actually helps keep your hair healthy and helps set the curls. I have to use high heat so I feel like every little bit counts, and this does. After using this, I can keep my hair looking blown out for two to three days if I don’t wash it. I love that you don’t have to clamp down using your hand the way you would using a normal straightener. It helps keeps my hands from getting too tired halfway through my head. My only gripes are that I do hit the power button by accident sometimes as others have mentioned, and I wish the wand were a little longer. It might help get some areas in the back of my head a little easier. If you’re buying this primary for use as a straightener, it’s great for that too, just know that it might not get quite as close to your scalp as some other dedicated straighteners might. I haven’t really minded this at all though, because the difference isn’t super drastic to me. The product itself feels really high quality, especially at this price point. The packaging was really nice, and it came with a glove and some hair clips inside the box, as well as a fabric pouch to keep the tool in. If you’re on the fence, I definitely recommend giving this a shot! ... show more

I needed a new flat iron and this product had been showing up in my news feed since I’m always watching beauty videos. I decided to give it a try and I’m just not in love. As a flat iron, it’s awesome. I love how smoothly it glides through my hair especially compared to my old crappy straightener. I’m 100% converted to the floating plates. But as for curling it’s not a win for me. I don’t like the curl pattern with the larger barrel. I get better curls with my regular curling iron, and better waves with a traditional flat iron. This styler is somewhere in between and it’s just not that flattering on my hair. They also didn’t hold very well even with the built in cooling fan. It also doesn’t have a swivel cord which I think should be standard at this price point. I wish Tymo made this product in a regular flat iron, but their flat iron is titanium and not ceramic which is too much for my hair. ... show more

I have tried the original brand of the same design flat iron/ curling iron. Both this one, which is a knockoff, and the original have a very large round handle. I am a hair stylist and I love that this flat iron is more like a curling iron, in the way that it shuts with a spring. Finally ! A flat iron that also curls that shuts by itself! I've thought of this year's ago while trying to curling with a flat iron. Why not open like a curling iron, duh! Awesome! But if it had a more ergonomic handle it would be great! Being that the original brand is the same I will keep this one! ... show more

I've only used it once so far, received it last week, so I'm not going to rate it 5 stars, since I don't know about the longevity or how it will perform in the future. My first use left me pleasantly surprised! I originally wanted something that wouldn't leave my hair as frizzy my current straigtener. I used all the same products as per usual, the only difference was this new straightener. It not only left my hair without frizz, it left my hair softer and less crunchy than my usual straightener. My hair felt soft even days after using it. I'm almost sorry that I didn't buy this sooner!m, Getting it to turn on the first time was a little confusing, but I finally figured it out.
