    • Read this before you buy if installing in a Harley

I installed this battery on a 2020 Harley Davidson RoadGlide Special. The bike was getting voltage spikes under load pushing up to 15-16+ Volts. After researching the symptoms this is a common problem. Your old lead-acid/AGM battery worked fine because the stock Harley charging system (stator + shunt-style regulator) was designed around it. The new TYKOOL LFP30L-BS-PRO has much lower internal resistance and a different charging profile. This causes the stock regulator to struggle, leading to unstable voltage (often spiking to 15–16V+ at higher RPMs or under load). The battery’s built-in BMS then kicks in to protect itself, creating further fluctuations that your Boom! Box / infotainment screen detects and shuts down for safety. I am very disappointed that this battery was marketed as compatible with Harley Touring Bikes. I now have to spend another $200+ on an upgraded Stator to make this work and in the mean time I can’t ride my bike. ... show more
