I work on a lot of these cars and maintain four Volvo S70's. When the headlights get old, the glass gets pitted and dull and the reflective coating inside gets dull and flakes off. Headlight performance becomes very poor and there is nothing you can do to make them bright again so they need to be replaced. The TYC headlight for the Volvo S70 is a high quality, well made item. It fits perfectly. It has good light output and gives a good down road view at night. The headlamp has a glass lens like the originals. It's nice to have a whole new headlight complete with bulbs and internal wiring (plug and play). The TYC headlight is made in Taiwan. These days, Taiwan makes very high quality products.(unlike some imported parts) Another very nice feature is these headlights have the bubble level. This makes it very easy to adjust the headlights. Park the car on flat ground, adjust until the bubble is in the middle and your up and down adjautment is all set. (Volvo had eliminated the bubble level on most of the S70's) They also look nice when installed and give the car a cleaner newer look vs. the old dull looking lights I recommend these headlights 100%. The only better performing option is the $400 projector lights, (a bit pricy for most people)

I purchased the driver side headlight assembly together with the passenger side headlight assembly for our 1998 Volvo S70 back in April 23, 2018. Since installation we started to randomly get a warning on the dash (roughly 3 times a month) that a bulb was out. The notification didn't say which bulb was out (headlight, parking, rear brake lights, etc) and the notification lasted only for a few seconds, which made it difficult to determine which bulb was out. Today, Oct. 7, 2018, the warning light stayed on for good and we finally found out that the driver side headlight was out. As I pulled the bulb out to replace it with a new bulb, I observed that the bulb looked okay. I also discovered that I couldn't unplug the bulb from one of the connecting wires (there are two) as it was stuck/fused permanently (see photos). I have contacted Amazon and the 3rd party company, AutoHalo, to see if the assembly is covered by any warranty. I am hoping that the defective assembly could be exchanged for the exact same one, TYC 20-5410-00. I will update my review and rating after this is resolved. UPDATE: Contacted AutoHalo last October 2018 and they would not replace the defective unit. AutoHalo said that the steps to avail of the warranty is to return the headlight assembly to them then they will send it back to the manufacturer for approval (which could take a few weeks). They would not let me contact the manufacturer directly. I declined, since I won't be able to drive the car legally with just one headlight!

Great replacement headlight to fix dimming originals. The silver/metallic reflectors inside my original headlights had faded/deteriorated and were no longer reflecting, so at night it was like driving while holding a candle - very dangerous lack of vision. Light output with this is amazing in comparison. I only replaced my "bad" passenger side headlight, but this new unit puts out probably twice as much light as my "good" original driver side headlight that is still on the car - I guess it isn't so good after all. Now that I know what my headlights SHOULD be doing, I will be replacing my driver headlight next with the same brand. Mine came with the built-in bubble level, but I didn't use it, just aimed it at the garage door at night to the height of the other headlight. Installation took about 10 minutes - you'll need a 10mm wrench for the 3 bolts on the back of the headlight, and a torx bit if you have headlight wipers (there is a little wiper rest on your old headlight that you transfer over). I'm very happy with my purchase.

I had been driving around the past few years with headlights that seemed to get worse each season. I couldn't really figure out why - most cars seen to suffer with yellowing plastic housing, but that's not the case with this Volvo. I tried different high performance bulbs on different occasions, but to no avail. Finally this fall I decided to examine the whole light assembly more carefully and I discovered the driver's side reflector was all pitted and a bit corroded. I decided to purchase this light to replace it and was amazed at the night and day difference! I previously thought the passenger side light was fine, but seeing this, I'm going to replace the other light now. Definitely recommended if your lights are looking dim. 4 star rating because had to return first light assembly due to broken alignment adjusters. Disappointing, but replacement was promptly sent out!

Quick shipping, packed very well. This appears to be an exact replacement, with the addition of a bubble level for horizontal aiming. Very easy to swap out on my son's 2002 Volvo C70. This solves the problem with the older C70/V70/others Volvos with low/no headlight projection, for a very reasonable cost. And the bulbs were included. Very pleased.
