We set to install some new 1/2 window length curtains in a room we were mildly remodeling. Didn't want the current trend of round curtain rods, the old style flat rods would be just fine for this little project. Bought the curtains at a Fred Meyer, so we bought the the curtain rods there, too. The Fred Meyer curtain rods can't hold any weight, they twist and bend like wet shaghetti. Seriously doubt they would support a set of sheers. Tried Lowes', Home Depot, etc., all the same. Aargh! Searched Amazon for heavy duty, flat style curtain rods. Came across Kirsch Superduty brand, ordered a set and had memories of the old days when things were made with quality and company pride. If you need a set of strong, well made flat curtain rods that will actually hold the weight of a set of curtains without twisting into a pretzel, Kirsch is the brand you want. ... show more

Beware: This isn't standard at all- it comes in three pieces, not two. There's nothing "heavy duty" about it and it's a good thing that this very pricey set came as a 2-pack because I don't anticipate it will last longer. Unfortunately, I'm currently between a rock and a hard place and this is better than nothing. It will do the job for now but, if you're able to go to a decent store, you'll likely find an actual HEAVY DUTY curtain rod for half the price! ... show more
