For the price this is a wonderful mattress! It came tightly wrapped so I was able to slide it out of the box onto the bed frame (Twin XL) and slowly removed the outer plastic wrap. As I did it began to uncoil slightly, but didn't expand until I used the included cutter to slice the inner vacuum-sealed plastic. It unfolded smoothly and fast without moving off bedframe. Within seconds it was fully 'inflated' and feels moderately firm (as described) right away. The fabric is a little better than I expected for the price, and overall very happy with the quality and value.

It's recommended to wait 24-72 hours before sleeping on mattress although it inflated instantly. We waited 24 hrs. and we weren't disappointed. I recommend replacing your traditional wooden box spring with a metal box spring. It will never have to be replaced and it doesn't make sqeeky noise over a period of time. I no longer suffed lower back, knees and neck pain or numbness in my arms/fingers from sleeping on my side. My 1st night sleeping on my 14 inch matress was the best sleep I've had in 4+ years. I no longer disturb my husband's and we both get a good nights sleep with out waking up the other to go to the bathroom. Overall I give this mattress 10 out of 10. For the medium firmness and the price. I read reviews on more expensive mattress and this mattress is just as good if not better. The matress is heavy, so make sure the coil side is on the bottom before cutting the plastic with the special cutting tool. It's just as described, a med/firm no smell, no disruptions to partner and sleep any positions comfortably. I highly recommend.

I’m 66 and did it all myself, make sure to have the mattress turned and situated exactly like you want it *as* you're taking it out of the box bc it starts inflating immediately even though its still encased in plastic. I bought the 14”, it’s huge and heavy. I don't regret buying it, its very comfortable and I sleep like a baby… also, it had the most satisfactory reviews for the money I was willing to spend. I would buy again but probably the 12” bc none of my old sheets go all the way down the sides.
