The mattress arrives in a box and shrink wrapped. I had read the reviews about being careful when opening it....so not wrong! They give you a "tool" to cut the plastic, so you don't cut your new mattress. Once you get the majority of the plastic cut the mattress pops open. So becareful and stand back. But the mattress is great. It is mid firm with tons of padding. It is a full 12 inches. I have had it for over a month now and it is so comfortable. I'm a back and side sleeper and this is perfect for me. I have way fewer aches and pains getting up in the morning. Great value for the quality

I was looking for a hybrid king sized mattress similar to the mattress I bought for my kids years ago off Amazon. While this mattress turned out to not be like theirs, it is a great mattress for the price. It is extremely heavy and packaged very well. We did not experience it busting open because my husband carefully removed the first layer of plastic and rolled it out as best he could on our bed frame and then slowly opened the rest of the plastic so our mattress could slowly inflate. We did not sleep on it the first 24 hours. It is much firmer than I thought it would be but it’s comfortable, supportive and seems very sturdy and well made. No smell at all upon opening. I wish I had bought it sooner to replace our old one, especially for the budget friendly price. I’ll update if needed! Thank

Update: It's been 2 months now and no divets or flat spots. So it's a solid recommendation from me. Okay bought this based on reviews. Most helpful, stand back when he packaging it's nearly opened. I was on the end and it popped open quickly and I was slammed into a table and wall. So yup, be on the side when it's ready to open up. The mattress didn't need any real time to "inflate". It was ready to put sheets on within an hour or two. My guest slept overnight and said it was comfortable but she felt that it wasn't a daily sleeper. Guest once in a while, but would likely divet or go flatter over time. So we shall see. But for the money, it was worth it to me. Oh and me, well I bruised my pride but no serious injury. I'd recommend it. I feel it's good quality, it's medium firm as stated, arrived quickly. No noise and is heavy for one person to lift while in box but it's easy to slide. Once opened and on platform it's easy to move around to make the bed.
