This thing is as comfortable as my old $400 queen pillow top I bought at the flea market a few years ago that my pickup truck had to bring home. Somebody should post an unboxing video for this thing. When you open the plastic the mattress is sealed in, a vacuum activates as the foam begins absorbing air and inflating itself. It's so cool! It felt ready to sleep on in a few hours, but I followed the instructions instead and it turned out perfectly like a normal bed. I added my old 2in memory foam topper to this and I could not tell the difference like I used to be able to with it on my old bed. ... show more

    • A good mattress for the money, but has flaws

I was looking at a Bed in a Box on Amazon. The more you compare, the harder it gets. Then I found the Kescas 12 Inch Hybrid Queen Size Mattress. The 5 Star ratings were Excellent and only $349. I ordered it and a few days later Amazon drove up and wheeled it to my front door. After three months, I am lowering my rating to 3 stars. I do not like is the design. Not only has the top foam shifted in the three month I has owned the mattress, but also the top cover. Mine shifted around the side of the mattress, as everything can float and is not ridged. I was able to shift the cover back into place, but do not know if it will shift again. Part of the problem is sitting on the edge and getting up off of it. Update after 5 months: After thinking that I needed to find another mattress, I have tried to deal with its flaws and believe I could not get another mattress without spending a lot more and not sleeping any better. Yes, I have had to shift the top cover a few times to center it on the mattress, but each time it has improved the firmness and feel of the mattress, as the foam has been able to expand. The media could not be loaded. The mattress has the right level of firmness to help with my back pain and the softness to make it comfortable. When it arrived, my wife found it too firm for her liking. We were told that the mattress would soften after a few weeks. And they were right: it became softerโ€” just right to accommodate my ailing back and to satisfy the softness demanded by my wife.
